Who: Sirius and Reguluscolour
When: Today...which is Saturday
Where: Muggle London, amusement park!
What: Sirius is showing Regulus all the cool things
Warnings: Not unless adorableness needs a warning

Muggles were loud. That is what Regulus decided as he grabbed hold of Sirius’ shirt for what was probably the fifth or sixth time since they left on their adventure. He'd tried not to because, despite what Sirius said, Regulus wasn't altogether certain that being ten was okay with his brother. He wanted to be brave and interesting and cool, but he was Regulus and not Sirius. The muggle part of London seemed loud and startled him a little more than he was willing to admit.

It wasn't all bad, though. There were some interesting things. Like toy cars. They were very tiny and ill-suited for people, but that was apparently on purpose. There were also boxes with tiny people inside (or so he assumed), that Sirius told him was called a 'telly'. He wasn't a all sure how they managed to get so many people into such a small box, but he was sure there had to be a way. He would have to ask Sirius about it, but right now he was distracted by this park of amusement. He wasn't entirely certain what was so amusing about it, but it was supposed to be fun. Sirius had promised. So far, however, it just seemed particularly loud and bright.

Moving closer to Sirius, he peered around at the other people. They didn't seem worried or bothered by all the noise. Still, he wasn't used to this many people and he didn't know why everyone screamed when they were supposedly enjoying themselves. "Are you sure they're having fun? They keep screaming." His voice was quiet, but loud enough that he was sure at least Sirius could hear him.

The fact of the matter was that if Sirius were still in his home world and approached with the idea of reconnecting with Regulus, he probably wouldn’t have taken it. He’d not left because of Regulus, and he never should’ve left him behind. He felt a great deal of guilt for that. But Regulus had grown up in the image their parents wanted for him, so far as Sirius knew back home. He could’ve chosen to break out like Sirius had, but he hadn’t. He’d become a Death Eater, and therefore an enemy, and Sirius back home would’ve scoffed at the idea of being anywhere near him. It was this place and the opportunities afforded to him that had changed his opinion on the subject. He now knew that Regulus had ultimately given his life for the good, and he knew that their lives both met a tragic end. He just appreciated the opportunity now to have more time with him, as well as the others like Remus and the Potters.

He really hadn’t expected his Regulus to appear, but he had. The fact that he was a child had made it even easier for Sirius to set aside his feelings on the subject and to honestly try. Walburga was here as well, and it was hard for him not to utterly trash her to Regulus, but he was attempting to be a proper adult. It wasn’t his job to make his young brother see their mother for who she was. He could only try to help him along.

He’d shrunk some of his clothes for Regulus, and it was funny to see his little brother in his clothing. He felt extra protective of him now that he was small, and smiled as he felt Regulus cling to his shirt again. “Positive,” he said, smiling. “It’s like… the screaming here is a release. Screaming for good reasons instead of bad reasons. That’s the point of these places, Reg. Adrenaline rush.” He grinned down at him. “Do you see anything you want to ride?”

Regulus was blissfully unaware of most of the details of his future outside of the part about Sirius' leaving that would be upsetting. He didn't have to live with the knowledge of those things. It was for the best because, as it were, he'd been upset enough about Sirius leaving. Anything more would have been too much. It was difficult for him to try to work with the knowledge that Sirius didn't like their mother. She didn't stop him from letting him see Sirius, though, so he didn't see why she was so terrible. That didn't make it any easier when he wanted to talk to them both about one another. It often meant he opened his mouth to say things and then quietly closed his mouth.

"Okay." He wasn't so sure of the truth of the subject, but he just nodded instead. As he stared at the rides, he tried to see which ones looked the least terrifying...or sounded that way. After a moment, he pointed toward the ferris wheel. Yes. It went around and up high, but he would do that on a broom one day and heights weren't that scary. It wasn't rushing fast and people seemed to like it. "Can we go on that one?"

Sirius had no intentions of explaining the future to Regulus unless he asked. It was hard to do so, given that he was only operating off of the information he’d been told as well. It’d been strange to tell Remus what Remus had told him not so long before, and he wasn’t really interested in being the cause of more sadness for the little one at his side now. He knew it was probably hard enough to handle the fact that he was so at odds with their mother. The rest could wait, hopefully for quite some time.

He watched Regulus examine the options, pretty open with whatever it was that Reg actually chose. The whole point was the show Reg first that he could have fun with him regardless of their age difference. It was also to show Reg the muggle world that he’d forever heard was so terrible. He wanted to prove to him that the muggles were honestly very lovely and not so different. He looked to the ferris wheel, nodding. “Sure thing,” he said, taking Regulus’ hand and leading him to the queue. There was another ride before they could load into one of the little compartments, but soon they’d settled in and pulled the safety bar over their laps. “I guess you like heights? Since you enjoy climbing, I mean,” he said as they waited, lifting bit by bit so that each little compartment could be filled.

For the most part, Regulus didn't really understand muggles. His parents told him that they were dangerous and bad and he was supposed to hate them. He didn't question it because his parents wouldn't lie to him. All he really knew about them from further inspection was that they were loud and drove in cars and shouted and had these amusement parks. None of them had tried to steal his magic, though. That was one thing he noticed.

When Sirius took his hand, he squeezed it tight and followed after him. He was a little nervous about the ferris wheel, but Sirius would make sure he didn't get hurt. Sirius always made sure. He sat quietly in the compartment, hands holding onto the bar. He only thought about the possibility of how many other people might've touched them afterwards, which made his nose wrinkle a little. Oh well. He could wash his hands. "The girl me said we played Quidditch and I don't mind heights. We wouldn't be afraid of them if we played Quidditch."

The higher they got, the more Regulus could see of the area around them. It was strange to see everything like this. "They look so small," he said as he looked down at the people walking around. He still didn't understand why people had been screaming.
