Harry hadn't expected a party nor did he really want one. He was a twenty-five year old dad, weasling his way up the Ministry. He could vividly remember chasing his four year old daughter down the halls of St. Mungo's, hearing her laughter. He could remember the weight of his little brother in his arms as he held him for the first time. Harry had been taken and truthfully, he wasn't upset by it. He got to live his life, he was able to reunite himself with his mother and uncle. He could remember everything and he was happy to have lived that far into his life. Yet upon returning, Harry felt the ache. It was a sort of longing, like he was missing a loved one all his life. Astro and Eris. Erin. Lil' Bitch. Little Minifoot. So many people that he loved and cared for that were not in his world.

When he first arrived, it was like coming home. He embraced the Captain, exchanging a few words before sneaking in on his mother and the rest of his family. That night was spent with Eris and Astro. Harry had no idea what would happen if he was ever taken, sincerely believing he never would be. He held on to both Eris and Astro for as long as possible, knowing that what ever they were going through, it was going to take a lot of time and he would be damned to let them do it on their own, or at least without his help. Harry loved them. There was no other way to say it. It was nothing planned nor was it meant to be as serious as it was, but it happened and Harry couldn't care less it happened. He loved them.

Managing to break away for a couple of hours, Harry reached out to the man he had grown quite close to. In the compound, Sirius was still a bit of a stranger. Sure, they had drinking in common and jokes, but Harry found it hard for himself to bond to man he hadn't quite met yet, at least not properly. In Harry's time, he was close to his uncle and Harry wanted that relationship here.

Sitting at the front of the bar, Harry sipped on his pint. He let the taste linger, another thing that had changed with the young man. He no longer chugged his beers and shots of liquor. He savoured the taste, living his life a little more slowly than he had before. He had things on his mind, situations he was trying to analyze. It didn't feel good to be told that she wanted to hate him. It didn't feel good that Astro seemed more distant than ever. They both did. They even seemed distant from each other. Rubbing a hand against his face then through his hair, he let out a low and heavy sigh. Hopefully his uncle would have something good to say, if not a big hug to give.

Sirius was glad Harry was back. There were presences he counted on as being constants here, and he hadn't realized he had thought of Harry was one of them until the boy was gone. Still, it was a bit strange. Perhaps it was the absence of James, which Sirius felt all the more keenly now that his son had returned, but he hadn't. Or, perhaps, it was simply that Harry was older -- and Sirius didn't remember him any better, but Harry had to know him better this time.

He knew it was a good thing -- a great thing -- that they all had this future to look forward to. Cici and Johnny got just about as normal a childhood as a kid coming out from a Lupin, Black, or Potter could hope for. While Sirius did look forward to it, it did always seem to emphasize everything he didn't have yet -- all the things he was devoid.

Still, he wasn't stupid enough to pass up a chance to spend time with his godson. He readily accepted the invitation. It didn't take him long to find Harry when he walked into the pub -- still looking a ridiculous amount like James.

"Getting started without me?" Sirius teased as he walked up beside Harry.

A smirk spread across the young man's face as he heard his uncle's voice. Turning his head slightly, he gave a nod for Sirius to sit. "I've been starting a long time before now. You need to start catching up to me." He looked so much younger than he recalled from just days ago. Harry found he could no longer feel angry or sad for Sirius as everything did work out. There would always be the uphill battle to let the past go, but it the past stays in the past. They were close home and they could easily be close here.

"Mind you, you'll have to blame Remus for that. He started me quite young." Young teenage years that were a bit of blur and warm from good whiskey. "Anyways, a pint? Yeah?" He figured something slow and casual to relax with. Harry wasn't much of a liquor drinker anymore, but it didn't mean he didn't dabble.
