If Ginny had any hope that today would be calmer, after the whirlwind that had been yesterday, she was sorely mistaken and it didn't take her long to figure that out. Waking up had brought one moment of calm before the memories of the previous day came flooding back, including the madness of the previous night that had ended in her (apparently) being engaged to Harry Potter. Or well, had ended in Deborah Smith being engaged to Alexander New, at least. Climbing out of bed and getting ready for the day, she'd expected to have to deal with Susan and her wedding plans, probably even with more hysteria from those who had been afflicted with whatever was spreading through her family and friends and the rest of the people from the compound. She'd hoped maybe to even have time to do some more theorizing in her journal, or to find Harry and work some ideas out with him.
Instead, just after breakfast, there came a knock on the door that threw her plans thoroughly out of whack. One minute she opening the door as the demure Deborah Smith, and the next thing she knew several villagers were rummaging through the house, searching every room-- for what, they wouldn't tell her. She had some worrisome guesses, though, ones that were proven correct when one of the men came striding out of her room, holding several items aloft and decrying them as the evil supplies of a witch. A bottle of headache potion, a several herbs (useful natural remedies) she'd cut outside and dried and bound together with some ribbon, a needle and black thread-- all things she'd been keeping in a small pouch; 'healing supplies' to her, but the makings of a witch to the paranoid villagers.
Before she could react, Ginny found a hand gripping her arm tightly, tugging her towards the open front door. She tried to remain rational and calm, but that was easier said than done when her emotions were running wild. Whether she knew that the children from last night were fine, that didn't mean she wanted to be hung herself, or accused of being a witch!! "Please, good sirs, I beg of you-" She began to plead with them, doing the only thing she could think to do, "Please I am a goodly maiden, I swear it! I am an honorable woman whose only want is to do what the Lord wills of me! I am recently betrothed to a good and just man, please! Those items, they are not mine I swear it, please!" A hint of desperation in her voice, she called out, "Charity, please good sister, tell them! Tell them there is no way these things can be mine, I swear on the name of our Good Lord!!!"
