Who: Marius Blackcan & Mariana Blackswap
What: Marius tells Mariana their future! For the next seven years, anyway.
When: Sundway afternoon.
Where: Outdoors
Warnings: N/A
Marius had decided to take a walk around the compound and was surprised to find how greatly it had changed. There was something vaguely familiar about the new look- even his clothes and slightly altered appearance, though peculiar, had an air of familiarity about them. When he overheard someone saying that they were in Whoville from Horton Here's a Who, at least part of what was going on made sense. Marius had no idea why or how things had changed, but if this was from a Dr. Seuss book, then that certainly explained why it seemed so familiar to him.
He really wished that Dahlia and Marcia could be here, because as amused as he was, he was sure they would enjoy it a great deal more once he explained to them that they were in a Dr. Seuss book. After writing a quick entry, Marius felt a pang of longing for his family. That, too, wasn't an unusual feeling, and it wasn't necessarily the fault of being here. Marius wouldn't have been with his family even if he was home- not until he managed to get another leave, but the way the war had been going for them, Marius wasn't sure that would happen anytime soon.
Marius hadn't meant to let it slip to Mariana quite so casually. As strange as her existence was to him, Marius thought that he must be even stranger to her. Besides being from another world, Marius was also from the future which made him doubly unusual to her. Marius had intended to tell her gradually, from the beginning, and in a more personal way. He supposed it shouldn't be so shocking that he had kids- after all, he was the right age for it. Then Marius remembered that Mariana was seventeen. He tried to remember quite what he had anticipated his life would be like when he was seventeen, but Marius found a lot of those specific memories and feelings had faded. A lot had happened in seven years that made it easy to feel distanced from all of that, but he did certainly recall that he had had extremely low expectations when he was young.
Before heading to the cafeteria, Marius headed into his room. He was lucky that he at least had his briefcase on him at the time he'd been taken, since he had been on his way to 'work'. Marius clicked the case open. He shuffled through the papers with strange, hopefully incomprehensible combinations of letters. Marius still felt uncomfortable leaving this all unguarded, and so he hid it away just as thoroughly as he had early after extracting the thin photo album from inside.
Once in the cafeteria, Marius sat and waited for Mariana. He was very curious to see what she would look like- would she just look like Dorea? Might Dahlia and Marcia grow up to look somewhat similar to her? Of course, he could already see a number of Rosalie's features coming through in them- they had her blue eyes, the dimple in the right cheek, and though their hair wasn't blonde like hers, it was a light brown as opposed to his nearly black hair.
