Sirilla had always imagined herself to be the least well emotionally-equipped person she knew, and therefore the worst possible person to be in a relationship with. Yet, she had managed it thus far, mainly because it was Moony; Remus and Renee were two very separate people in her head, but there were undeniable similarities, which meant she'd known him quite well from the outset. She had known it was dangerous to get involved with him from the beginning, because there was no way to separate sex and emotion when he was already a version of one of her very best friends. And she'd been utterly right about that, but was nevertheless glad she'd taken the risk.
That was the most surprising thing she'd realized after he'd disappeared, that she didn't regret him-- not much, anyway. Not for long. And she'd learned that she could get over him. If she got even more deeply invested, it would hurt more if he left, but that just meant it would take more than a month to feel sort of normal again. She wasn't glad that he'd left, but it had been the perfect amount of time; just enough for her to manage to avoid a teary, cliche reunion and not long enough for her to forget how much she liked him. His reappearance had sent her into a tailspin of mostly positive but confusing emotions, and she'd needed to voice them out loud to the other her before she could figure out what all of them were.
And then, when she woke up beside him for the second time, she felt like it was building up inside her again, on the verge of spilling out. She was the first one awake, so she lifted her head to kiss him, nipping lightly at his lip to wake him up. "Moonycake," she said, feeling the same thrill of terror shoot through her again. "Wake up, I need to tell you something."
