The countdown has been posted, and we're on to the next flip! overview. Welcome to the Suburbs, circa the 1950s. There is one main street, on which is located the high school, the grocery, the bowling alley, and so on. Residential streets are lined with perfect, small houses and white picket fences. Dogs bark, birds chirp, and everyone seems to have a smile on their face as they wave in greeting. The houses are big enough for the average family and contain furniture that is covered in plastic. No dust bunnies allowed! Additionally, twelve inch black and white televisions sit in the family room. In the bedrooms, Taken will find single beds for each person. Yes, even couples will be given a bed per person, there is no double beds in the suburbs! Oh and did we mention? Everything is black and white. The entirety of the world is black and white. The furniture, the plants, the sky, the Taken. Yes, even the Taken themselves appear to be in black and white. Even stranger is that the Taken will find themselves incapable of swearing. Any attempts to swear will end with phrases such as gee willikers, holy smokes, gosh darnit, etc. Also, nothing in Pleasantville ever actually catches fire, and the local firemen spend their days rescuing cats from trees. Additionally, all cars miraculously roll gently and safely to a stop even if they are on the verge of hitting something! The compound is back, located on the edge of town and unnoticed by non-Taken members of the community, but it is locked as it has previously in other worlds. You are to act as a member of the community. This community appears to be modeled after the 1950s of Genderswap world. Ladies are the head of house and men are the loving house husbands! Ladies are to go to work, and should state "Honey, I'm home!" upon return, while the men are to stay home, prepare meals, and keep the house clean. Isn't that just swell! time & events. It appears to be the suburbs of the United States of America, circa the 1950s. info the taken are given. Everyone is given a name, family, housing arrangement and job for this world. The locals know the Taken as these identities. Best play along! It also appears that this world follows along the lines of the world commonly known as genderswap. It seems it is the women who are the head of the families and the men who stay at home as the house husbands! IMPORTANT NOTE: For the duration of this world, everyone will feel compelled to truly live out their roles! Men will want to be stay-at-home dads who cook and clean, teens will want normal teenage things like fitting in at school. Here are the families and jobs! See below for individually assigned roles and items. Please note that there are two spreadsheets, one for families and one for jobs. If men do not have a job listed, they are stay-at-home dads and, in the same respect, all jobless students are students without part-time jobs clogging up their free time! γ Gamma: DOC. The closets of all Gammas are full of clothing appropriate to the time-period and to their role. In addition, all Gamma teens receive a sweater with the Gamma Γ on the chest. All stay-at-home dads receive red aprons with an Γ embroidered on the pocket in black. ε Epsilon: DOC. All taken will get appropriate clothing for their roles. If they are members of the athletics department, for instance, they will have letter jackets and sweaters. Anything you would essentially see from Happy Days, Hairspray, or Grease are applicable as long as it falls in line with your aliases basic info. This is to mean we shouldn't see the stay at home Dad's running around in leather jackets! Epsilon gave very specific clothing for each person by taking into consideration their roles. (More coming soon!) ζ Zeta: DOC. Zetas get a full wardrobe of era appropriate clothing, whether they need work uniforms, school clothes or football uniforms. House husbands also get yappy little dogs that they walk twice daily in between tending to the household. Mayor Smith will also find her motorcycle waiting in the driveway. ο Omicron: DOC. Each Omicron taken will receive period-appropriate clothing according to their assigned roles. The heads of houses will receive spiffy briefaces to tote to work, and each teenager will find sweaters to showcase their school pride! π Pi(e): Pie Taken will find that they have a pretty well-stocked closet full of black and white, period and role appropriate clothes, as if they've been living in this life long enough to acquire a full wardrobe. All of their clothes are marked with a pi(e) symbol and jocks also have their letterwoman's jacket, to boot. Jocks will also find they have an extra pin in case they meet a special someone they want to give it to. In addition, more information in regards to their roles can be found here τ Tau: Closets full of black and white clothing appropriate for the era and their role (including business or sport uniforms where applicable) and a little something extra to help everyone get into the spirit, too. |
