Who: Sirius Blackunwind & Regina Blackswap What: Talking, bitching Where: The beach When: Tuesday Warnings: Language, feels, bitching
Normally, the beach wouldn't be the last place on Sirius' list of places he would like to be. Today, however, it was absolute hell. He really didn't care to be anywhere without Remus, especially a place they could both enjoy like a vacation they could never get, and whenever he stopped to think about it his chest actually started hurting. So he stopped thinking about it when he could. Instead, he filled the night scheming with Sirilla and drinking themselves into oblivion. That just meant that the sun, blaring as it was even through his suncream, made his head pound with one of the worst hangovers he'd ever had. Could he even see? He was certain that his eyes had completely stopped working.
Sirius dug his toes into the sand as he sat on the beach, waiting for Regina in only the swimming trunks Zeta had provided. What the bleeding fuck was his life coming to? Moony was gone and Regulus was there. Even Narcissa had been easy to deal with until his arrival, now she was going back on everything she'd said to him or Andromeda, acting like the prissy bitch he knew her as. And Regulus was following suit. Except he was intent on on causing just as much pain as Sirius wanted to. They were getting stuck in the cycle but what did it matter? Regulus had plenty of other Siriuses to choose from here and one was already quite taken with him. So fuck it, right?
Looking up, he finally saw Regina getting closer but he didn't move to meet her. Moving hurt. Looking hurt. Just existing seemed to hurt. He hadn't been sure how he'd feel about Regina now that his actual brother was here, especially since she was mad at him and thought their relationship had gone to pieces when he left. Yeah, he thought that maybe he should have never even come back. But honestly, he was much happier to see her now. She was everything Regulus wasn't. Sure, she had made her own bad choices in her life, but she saw how bad it was and she made an effort to connect with Sirilla and all the rest of them. She was good and he could see it.
Then his chest ached again thinking about it. About Regina replacing Regulus. No matter what, Regulus was still his little brother. He was the brother that Sirius wanted to take care of and save, and eventually he did more or less save him. Sirius had actually been happy that Regulus, even though he was already turning into a spoiled prat, at least got a chance to live a full life. But then he betrayed him, in Sirius' mind, and he wasn't saying anything now to make any bit of difference. Sirius' head dropped into his hands and he groaned when Regina got close enough to hear him, unsure if his mouth could make actual words just yet.
