Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Who: Toma and Alby
What: Discussing the arrival of Alby's daughter
When: After Helena has gone to sleep
Where: Toma's room, Gamma 001
Warning: Eh

Albus didn't know the nightly procedure. He didn't know what Helena was accustomed to at home. Did they have bath time before dinner? Did they brush their teeth and than their hair? Did she like having clothes put out for the morning the night before? What sorts of stories did she like to be told before bed? All of these seemingly silly questions had been bouncing around in Albus' head all day and yet, when it came time to get ready for bed, he found it best to just go with the flow. He didn't have many works of fiction in his room and none that he thought were suitable for a bedtime story. He would need to remedy that over time and he was quietly thankful that Toma had at least a copy of Secret Garden that the two were planning to read over time. But for this evening, instead, he wrote down in his journal for her to read about the Halloween that his Father once told him, of a mountain troll in a bathroom...

Stepping out of the room that had appeared for Helena, he shut the door quietly. He didn't know how he was going to go about this evening but he had told Toma he wanted to see her. After all, he had only seen her briefly since Helena's arrival. It would be enough just to sit in her company.

Quietly, he stepped up to her door, and knocked, waiting for a response.

Toma didn't know what to make of this entire situation. For one, children had a tendency to make her uncomfortable. Perhaps that was because of her experience with the children in the orphanage or because that had not really been a skill she'd spent honing along with all of the other magical subjects she'd studied but, either way, she was out of her element here. There were other reasons, too, that she was uncomfortable but she didn't want to discuss them most because she didn't understand them.

She'd spent the past few hours in Oscar's office—she wasn't sure what had possessed her to tell Helena that he was her father but she had and she wasn't taking it back—in heart-wrenching tears that she trusted him not to tell to anyone. Even now, though, she didn't understand why she was so shaken by this girl's arrival.

Hearing the knock on the door, she momentarily forgot that she had been planning to remain silent and said, "Yes?" Perhaps it was Oscar.
