At precisely 9pm tonight, all Taus will find themselves inside Tau Block, whether they were there already or not. The block is locked down-- the exit is locked, and the Taken's units are closed. There are no lights on, and all the fires have gone out. It is dark, cold, and silent except for the sounds made by the Taken. But they are not alone. There is a shadowy figure in their midst. It has similar properties to a dementor, but to a lesser degree, in that it causes a slight feeling of cold and fear wherever it goes but does not reawaken the Taken's worst memories. If allowed to get too close, it will pass through the Taken like a ghost and leave them feeling icy cold and they will be forced to freeze in place for ten seconds before moving again. It is also capable of moving through walls. However, when they attack it correctly, they will find that it has a quite solid form like a human male. It is your job, Tau Taken, to defeat this specter, hereafter known as Mr. Scream. To do so, you'll need to work in the small groups assigned below. Each person must land a blow on him before he is defeated, and it must happen before midnight in order to get the accompanying prize. The only weapons each person has are those that they are carrying with them as part of their costume or day wear. Wand magic will do nothing against Mr. Scream, but can be used for other purposes. They will not need their wands to light their way, however; they will each have their hands of glory that were provided at the flip (or upon their arrival, for newbies), even if they were not carrying it with them. The groupings are not optional: they cannot move farther than 20 feet from each other at any given time and will find that Mr. Scream turns to his ghosty-intangible form if their attack is not coordinated. They may find themselves upstairs in the hallway between the locked units, or downstairs in the common area. Mr. Scream will first appear on the stairs between the two, but everyone will need to travel all over the block to catch him. For those of you who know where they are, Tau strongly suggests the use of the secret passageways in getting the jump on him. The groups are as follows: UPSTAIRS 1.
