Who: Bobbinses! And the one that's a Rosier. What: alt-family reunion in the middle of a zombie apocalypse. When: Saturday night (backdated) Where: Marina's unit in Gamma Warnings: TBD
After all the time they'd spent here, Marek had not expecting to see more family. There was Evan, of course-- or Evangeline, their sort of cousin-in-law by marriage, but none of their actual family had shown up. Not even alternate versions of them, which happened to some people. They were among the more unique people here in the compound, and he was comfortable with that, because as long as he and Melinda were together he didn't need anyone else. He'd figured that was how it was going to stay.
But now Marina was here. And not from their world, but from the world where they'd both died at thirteen, the world that Melinda had seen in the pensieve. Marek hadn't actually seen it, but he'd picked up on Melinda's emotions as well as the information she'd given him and he had his own feelings on the subject. He didn't actually know all of the details beyond the fact that they'd been reaped together, but one way or another he felt sure they'd both ended up dead. Only one of them could come out of that arena, and one of them living while the other died would be worse than dying. Meanwhile Marina, who had never been as close to either of them as they were to each other, had lived on without them both. And, more than likely, lived with the memory of watching them die on television. Even though he didn't really treat his older sister any more kindly than he usually treated Melinda, he'd never wanted her to go through that.
He grabbed hold of Melinda's hand and led the way as they fought their way back to Gamma, firing his gun at any zombies that came near. It was time to see their sister, and to face the reality of what had happened to them in the Games World.
