Louise nodded with what Papa Maman said, "People are not monsters. They're a mix of wonderful traits and flaws." Perhaps Captain Epsilon's excessive tendencies toward one end of the spectrum were because he was trying to avoid the other. However, Lou could not imagine him being particularly fashionably dressed of his own accord. In that way, he reminded her of her brothers. "I am sorry your family was taken away from you," Lou meant it honestly, as she listened, "I do not know why he likes veela so much or why, liking them, he would give two up." She thought a moment, "It was kind of him to let Teddy and Victoire leave when Teddy wasn't happy. But what does that have to do with Mini? Did she want to be with them?" She hadn't seen anyone moving around in her time, but she hadn't known rooms were moved around.
"I don't like lying," Lou admitted, "so I have to be very careful not to let anything slip about magic or doing charms. They think my wand is a good luck charm. I keep it in my purse at work. Most girls have something they don't like others to touch. Other than some obvious jokes about not having a boyfriend, they leave it alone." A wooden dildo one girl had suggested it was. While Lou was sure if someone had thought of it, it existed somewhere, a wand was not the ideal shape for such an instrument. But then, wands could do much more than a well shaped piece of wood.
"You've been here for months," Louise gasped. It was hard, despite the list of worlds, to fathom how long people had been here. It felt like a dream or a very strange daydream charm. It had so much detail, though, and she knew it wasn't a dream. But months? Yes she had only been there a week, but she had not thought about time in that way.
"I would have thought two wars would have been enough for a very long time," Lou added. She wondered if she fought in it, if Louis did. Victoire, from the sound of it, fought. That meant Teddy likely fought too. She hoped none of her family died in this war. Any of them made it too many dying in her opinion. But in war, people died. Thinking back to the morning, she took more time to sip her chocolate.
