"He surprised people with the music the other day," Louise pointed out. Indeed, the captain had been in a less serious mood. That had been why she had written him and requested some clothes of her own. He had said he would do what he could, but Louise had heard nothing from him since. With each day that passed, she wondered whether Epsilon had changed his mind, forgotten about it, or simply was not going to deliver any of the clothes. Three outfits had been nothing, in Lou's opinion, but perhaps he disliked that she had asked for that much. "I have spoken with Mini - she is yours then? - before, and she is wonderful. We get along great. If I had more clothes, I would lend her some," she was quite excited that others had many in their family as well. She knew there weren't any other versions of her, but having a Papa was wonderful.
Having to change her goals hadn't been easy or the most fun, but Louise enjoyed her work without regret. Her life had really come together, and she was grateful to have found out when she did, rather than years later. "I am glad that they told me so quickly," Louise replied, "I would have worked longer there, if I knew I could get a chance one day. But I did not waste time with them. I left as soon as I found a job with math, with accounting." It had taken looking in the muggle world, with learning how to use computers, and adapting to situations where she hadn't known all of the cultural references, for which sounding French had helped.
"I can use a computer very well, Papa Maman," Louise replied, "Grand-mère always wants me to teach her everything. But I do not have one at home. I only use them for work, even though the girls think that sounds like I should be from decades ago. That's what they say. Sometimes I read the muggle fashion magazines, so that I know the business." She also read the business magazines that gave analysis of how companies were doing, including fashion.
"Tell me about you, Papa Maman," Louise leaned forward as she held up her cup of cocoa, "I love all your stories."
