Of course twins would make good entertainment. Everyone would be wondering precisely what Marek was wondering now: what they would do about the fact that only one of them had a shot at being a victor. Whatever they did, the audience would probably find it very interesting-- because although it wasn't unheard of, twins being reaped together was probably rare, at the very least.
That made him feel a little bit angry, that people could be entertained by watching him and Melinda struggle with that. Especially at thirteen... thirteen. At thirteen, Marek's biggest struggle had been when they'd been put into separate houses. It was ironic to discover that in some cases, being chosen together was worse than being separated.
Except not by much, because if only one of them had been chosen, they would have been split up anyway. In that scenario, though, the one who was reaped might come out of the games as a victor and they'd both survive.
After a moment, he said, "I wonder if either of us lived." That wasn't really the outcome he was hoping for, in truth. It would probably be easier for both of them to die than for either of them to live.
