"That's not what I mean," James said. "I mean, he needs to find something for himself, yeah? He should spend more time with me, too-- I mean, he must miss me too, right?" He paused. "He really seemed to like the full, for one thing. Maybe it'll just take some time for him to figure it out."
He had woken up next to the Moony in question after the full moon, and he'd seemed happy enough. But one brief moment of being happy didn't mean that this place overall was making him happy, and James knew that. He didn't like the idea of any Remus being upset, and made a mental note to reach out to him later. "I could suggest it to my Moony, see if he can lure him in there," he said, grinning briefly. "No one knows how to bait a Moony like another Moony, right?"
But his amusement was brief, and when Sirius's tone and mood grew quieter again, James's did as well. At the soft declaration, James closed the last of the distance between them and hugged his best mate tightly. "I know, Pads. Neither do I."
