"I always knew there was a troublemaker in there somewhere," Sirius whispered back, winking at her as he did so. Really, when he was 16, he was pretty sure that he had never thought that there was a troublemaker in Lily. But that was what was so fun about it now.
Sirius blinked just once when she smeared chocolate on the side of his nose, but then smiled, reading up to smooth the frosting off his face the best he could. He tested it then, as if he was trying to gauge how good the cake was.
"In that case," he said slowly, wrapping an arm back around her waist. "It seems to me that it might be missing something uniquely... Lily." As he said it, he gobbed up two fingers work of frosting and then ran them both down the middle of Lily's forehead to the tip of her nose.
