That was the truth of them, Sirius and Lily. They'd taken one of the darkest and gloomiest times of their lives and made it into something beautiful. Her heart swelled whenever she thought of their memories and while she would always hurt for what she'd lost, she'd never hurt for what she'd gained. Whatever was in the far and near past, she trusted that he would never let her down and she never wanted to let him down, either.
"You like?" she asked, a hint of a cheerful giggle in her voice as she wrapped her arms around him and hugged him close. She'd thought long and hard about what to do for his birthday and what she'd decided on was a small reminder of the greatness that had come from their life together, memories that could not be tainted by Rodolphus and his taunts.
Shrugging she added, "Not sure how much trouble we'll get in for defiling Hogwarts but I'm also not sure how much I care. Look at that, Shaggy, you've turned me into a rebel."
