theodore nott did not go gentle into the night (ungently) wrote in flippedrpg,
"He loved my mother, too," Theodore said. "But he never gave up on me. Arion Carrow would sooner give up on me than on his alcohol."
When Theodore had given the ultimatum that Arion not talk to him while inebriated, he had expected that there was a chance the man might reconsider. Granted, Arion had not been especially forward in speaking to him, but Theodore was used to father figures keeping something of a distance. He had been surprised to be met with no argument at all, but accepted that he was a lower priority than the liquor, likely because he was from a different world.
How Arion could consider himself any sort of father to any Theodore when he spoke of Theodore's father that way, however, was beyond him. That was the last, final straw. Theodore had no more conditions under which he would accept Arion's presence in his life, unless he simply changed. Theodore was holding out no hope of that happening, though. Nothing about the man had led him to expect that he was capable of such a thing, thus it was easier to simply write him out of his life. "No father should ever do that. I am glad he is not in my life in his world, either."
