 what. For the final task, all of the champions from each house (both teams) will be working together. After dinner, they will go down onto the grounds, where a maze has been set up with tall hedges, much like the one in the books. Each team will enter from a different side, and their paths will not cross on the inside, but all three mazes lead to the center, where the tournament cup will be waiting for them. The first obstacle they will encounter, a short ways into the maze, is a fork in the road. One way is blocked by a dementor, the other by a hippogriff. They can take either route-- and they may split up to go both ways, if they like-- but they must either defeat the dementor or win the right to pass the hippogriff in order to proceed. Regardless of which they choose, they will next find their paths booby trapped with acromantula webs and quicksand, which are difficult to see in the dim light. It's very difficult to get past these without the help of at least one teammate, so it's highly recommended that champions do not split into groups smaller than two. Additionally, there will be a dragon flying overhead, intermittently spouting fire; the Taken will be protected from any serious burns even if the fire touches them, but they may or may not realize this. It is likely to swoop in and startle them, and set the hedges ablaze around them. The final obstacle before they can grab the cup is to pass a sphinx, which will give them a riddle. Then, the tournament will be won by the team that manages to have all of their teammates touch the cup first-- so don't leave anyone behind! OOCly, the winner of the tournament will be determined by which team gets 6 out of the 8 characters to comment on this post first. And you can also use the comments to work out the details of how the task went with your teammates, but all you have to do to win the cup is comment with your character's journal.
