Having spent a good amount of time avoiding the man, Sirius found it felt quite different to see him again. The hope he had always felt every time he entered the office, this one in the castle or the other one in the compound, tried to make a reappearance. Whether it was somehow, crazily, warranted or not, Sirius rejected it. There wasn't enough of it, and he respected Oscar's choice, his reasoning. He wasn't here to change the man's mind about them. It wasn't about what Oscar thought or felt anymore. It was for Sirius's own good.
"I need to talk to you," Sirius replied, making sure it did not sound as forceful as he had the capacity to do so. 'Want' hadn't been the right word. 'Need' was more aligned with the conversation's role in Sirius getting over the man in front of him. Further, it wasn't so much about what Oscar said, so much as that he listened. Sirius's honesty, he hoped, would at least continue to give Gamma as much data as possible to help him save his world. If it contributed in any way, then something good came out of this.
