Who: Rodolphus and Siriusknap
When: Uhm, now?
Where: Great Hall.
What: Like this wasn't going to happen? Pfft.
Rating/Status: High/Incomplete.

Rodolphus' stride was stiff as he made his way to the Great Hall, carefully surveying everyone's face who passed him by. A Ravenclaw uniform did not sit with him well, but for the time being he had no choice. Even in the colour blue, Rodolphus' demeanor in which he walked still had its effect. A few immediately turned around when seeing his face, the rest stood out of his way. It amused him. Some things never changed in Hogwarts and it only seemed to multitude with his age. He was having fun despite having found out that in some Merlin forsaken universe, he and Bellatrix had conceived a child. There was a part of him who wanted to know what she was like, if she was a monster like him. The best course of action would be to observe. He would know the signs right away, so the rush to meet a supposed daughter was the least of his priorities.

But not meeting a daughter of his version of Narcissa. No. Out of pure selfishness, Rodolphus wanted to see this girl. If there was any sort of resemblance to Narcissa, he would recognize it right away.

What ever the man's curiosity, Rodolphus had his priorities. The mission had failed and not because of him, or Bellatrix from what he could tell. Lily seemed to have regained her memories or at least some of them. The fighting spirit was still there, if not more so with just the sight of his writing. A grin spread across his lips imagining what fear he could put into her with just seeing him. Oh the things he could do with just one simple touch. Then there was the matter of James, Remus, and Harry. None of them were talking yet he knew they were there. They had to be. Rodolphus wanted them there.

But for now, the Deatheater settled for Sirius. Surprisingly, he was the only one wanting to see him. He had stated they tried getting to him, but Rodolphus was certain they had. If Lily was able to fight against memories about the life of a lie he made them live, he could only assume Sirius had broken through as well. In that moment, the rarest of moments, he had wished Bellatrix was there. She could get inside his head like no one else ever could. Rodolphus had to play with what he had. He had memories of them two going to pubs, having casual conversations, of being friendly. Rodolphus also had a tattoo that was all too familiar to Sirius'.

He carried his knife and brassknuckles in a pocket, his packet of cigarettes and lighter in the other. There was no telling what might come of the situation as Rodolphus was keeping himself on his toes. For the lack of better term, he had a sneak suspicion that Sirius was fucking with him. The very reason why Rodolphus chose a public area to meet. It would have been foolish for Sirius to do something silly and if he tried, Rodolphus could easily say what ever he did was in self defense.

Pausing for a moment, he glanced around for his face. He looked concerned, as if he was truly worried about the state in which Sirius was in. Running a hand through his hair, he whipped around, finally spotting the man he was to evaluate.

"Sirius! Mate!"

Rodolphus rushed over, placing both hands on his shoulders. "You alright? What has gone on here? Why is Lily buying into their lies?"

He didn't care for the public meeting space. Mostly because he didn't want anyone interfering with what he was about to do -- and already James and Remus had both written to him. He couldn't help but be irked that they had draw conclusions about him there were so eerily on point. He knew that it should have been a reassurance that he had friends that knew him better than anyone. But he knew that they were going to try and turn this into something else.

And in the end, he didn't want this to be the rallying cry that every goddamn Marauder in the compound seemed to be turning into. He wanted to take Rodolphus apart by himself. He knew that the only other person that deserved to do so was Lily -- but he wasn't going to let him near her again. And maybe that was a selfish decision, because he knew that Lily had been hurt by Rodolphus just as much as he had. But he couldn't stand seeing Lily upset again. It was better that she was able to rebuild her life without the worry of Rodolphus, or whatever she had done to him.

Sirius knew that he had the ability to deal with Rodolphus how he deserved. He had spent years learning everything he could so that he could go against James and Remus -- and now that had all shifted and he found himself balanced against Rodolphus Lestrange. That was a prospect that he found himself okay with. He had waited for the deep-seated angry to awaken -- the anger that he saw all too clearly in Lily. But he simply felt the cold and dark need for revenge. He hadn't explicitly given himself up to Rodolphus, but he also wasn't stupid enough to think that the man wouldn't assume he had turned as well.

When he entered the Great Hall, he wished that he could have had a moment to appreciate how ridiculous Rodolphus looked in Ravenclaw blue, but instead he had a weird moment of vertigo, where he expected to see Bellatrix appear any moment.

He still didn't like being touched and he wanted to shrug away Rodolphus' hands, but he managed to hold himself still.

"We've heard a lot here," Sirius answered neutrally, practically staring at Rodolphus -- a challenge of sorts.

Rodolphus took in every expression, every gesture, and every slight shift in tone. They were here and it was Rodolphus' goal to seek them out. The possibility he and Bellatrix had lost total control of both Lily and Sirius was high in his mind. In a way, he felt they had failed. However, he was thankful for it. No longer would he have to babysit, spend his finances on a mudblood and a mudblood lover, or pretend to be someone else. No. He could be Rodolphus and he would make them wish they had never stood up to him in this way ever again.

When Sirius didn't move, Rodolphus dropped his hands, shoving them into his pockets. "Have you?" His head dropped and shook a little. "After everything we have done for you both..." Rodolphus swallowed hard and looked up at the man he had seemingly taken care of for so long. "Do you believe them?"

Sirius smiled, because it was so ridiculous in some ways. It should have been funny (maybe still was funny in some insanely chaotic way) if it hadn't been his own life.

He deftly pulled his wand out of his pocket, his fingers tight around it as he leveled the tip underneath Rodolphus' chin, just above his pulse. He knew that there wasn't a good chance that he was going to be able to cast any truly good spells, but Rodolphus didn't know that. The threat was still there.

"Rodolphus," Sirius said, his voice amused. "Out of all the cards you could have played with me, you honestly think I would have ever believed that you and Bellatrix did anything out of the kindness of your own hearts? Even when I did believe you, I still knew you both for the selfish creatures you both are." Because he was one too.

As soon as the wand came out and he felt the point on his throat, Rodolphus' hand slipped around his wand. Sirius was angry. Good. All the false sense of care and concern had left the Deatheater's face, replaced with a very cynical grin. "Don't lie, Sirius." With a faint chuckle, he raised free hand, facing his forearm towards Sirius' face. "You're just as evil as I am, remember? Remember what you wanted? We taught you, Sirius. You and I share it."

As he leaned in, making Sirius' wand press harder into his skin, Rodolphus brought is wand. With is free hand, he grabbed the back of Sirius' neck and pulled him in closer. He brought the Marauder's ear close to his lips, whispering of his darker past. "Do you honestly think if we were selfish, we would have shared out secrets? You wanted to kill them. You still do. Somewhere, in that fucked up head of yours, you want to kill them."

Rodolphus pressed his wand against his pulse, slowly dragging them over the scars he and Bellatrix had once made. "I can make you remember things you wish you had never remembered at all. I can make you remember her screams, her cries for help. I can make you remember everything."

The man was having his fun and as he pushed Sirius closer to the wall, he chuckled. "You've made a stupid mistake, Sirius. Do they know? Do they know where you've been dabbling? The notorious and proud Sirius Black, most loyal friend of the fucking idiots had been sticking his wand where he shouldn't have been."

Rodolphus pressed a little harder on the scars, applying more pressure, remembering the way his skin sliced so delicately against his knife. How the blood began to spill. How the screams would slowly die out the deeper and longer the cuts became. "Do you remember?"

It came as no surprise when Rodolphus drew his wand as well -- he'd have been a fool to think that Rodolphs wouldn't have his wand on him as well. There was no reason that he should have come without it, and he had to know that there were plenty of people here who were going to try and attack him. Sirius' fingers tightened over his own wand.

His mouth went a bit dry at the comment that he was just as evil as Rodolphus was. It was something he had known since showing up here. He knew that James and Remus wouldn't admit it -- and that they would inevitably try to convince him otherwise, but he thought it was the truth. He and Lily had been put in the same position, and there was no denying that Lily had been hurt, but she had still come out everything Lily. Sirius had walked out of everything and he was something else now. There'd always been that dark edge lurking underneath the surface, trying to cut through the top layer of his skin; he was a Black, and that chance was always there. And it had simply flourished in his time with Rodolphus and Bellatrix.

"I don't want to kill them," Sirius said through gritted teeth. He jabbed his wand even further into Rodolphus' throat, and his other hand went up to grip the arm that was holding the back of his neck, as if he could wrest away some of the control the hold implied. He knew that it was foolish to respond to already; some part of him was screaming that he was falling into the trap -- and some part of him already knew that he had fallen, because tight fear shot through his chest at the idea that he might be undone enough to hurt James or Lily or Remus without even being aware of it.

His attention was snatched abruptly away when Rodolphus made mention of her -- of memories that he had forgotten -- of Lily being hurt -- because why wouldn't they have, but it still -- he didn't know how he was supposed to react to it. He pushed away from the wall, trying to put distance between himself and Rodolphus.

"You did your best with her, and she still beat you," Sirius snarled out in return. Because it was true. Lily got away, and she got back to her family. Continued her family. "What a failure."

He said nothing when Rodolphus referred to everything he'd learned at Grimmauld Place though, because there was no defense he had to any of that, and no, they didn't know. Even Lily didn't know the extent of everything, just how deep he had gotten, how bad things had been -- were. He narrowed his eyes a little when Rodolphus asked him if he remembered, because there was that same sort of pressure that there had been when James had been exploring his mind, bringing down the walls that Rodolphus and Bellatrix had concocted, keeping him hidden from what exactly the had done to him.
