Who: Astro Black and Eris Lupinbaby
What: Talking.
When: Sometime after this
Where: Eris and Astro's Unit
Rating: TBD/Incomplete

The journal shut with a swift movement and was swiped up, shifting to be cradled under Astro's arm. She had been enjoying the last few hours of the world. In its details, it was heaven for her. Not necessarily the playground aspects but the recreation feel was enticing and right up her alley. It was simply the emotions that had messed with her. With the ticking of the countdown, she knew they didn't have much longer, and though she wanted to play more, she had just savored being in the environment. Her back had been pressed up against the skate ramp for hours, feet resting on her board as she leisurely pushed it back and forth, writing in the journal.

Today had been better. At least, when she woke, she had less fear. Eris promised she wasn't going to leave and she knew her Moonbeam would fight tooth and claw to keep that promise if they tried to make her break it. Of course, today had brought concern for her God Mother, of which she hadn't expressed well. She had a feeling she upset Hestia by refusing to answer full on questions of what was going on, but that was a concern for later. For now, she was ready to just retire for the night.

Pushing open the door once she arrived to her and Eris' unit, the journal got tossed lightly onto a nearby surface, before she went looking for Eris. She had assumptions of her own as to what had happened but she had no confirmation yet and she had no way of knowing what to expect, aside from her gut instincts.

"Air," she spoke allowed to announce her presence and aid in finding the woman.

Eris was emotionally spent for the day and wasn't sure she could handle much more emotion for the next five years. After her mother had left, she'd raided Astro's things and stole the sweatshirt she'd arrived in and was now wearing it with the hood pulled up over her head while she listened to music on her iPod. She was sitting in the middle of her bed and didn't even hear Astro come in.

She'd wanted to see both of her friends but she hadn't felt like she was really in any state to go seek them out. Her eyes were still puffy and she was still coming down off of her anger trip. She loved her best mates, yeah, but that didn't mean she wanted them to see her cry any more than she wanted her mum to.

As one song ended, she let out a small sigh and clicked through a few others until she landed on one she wanted to listen to. Siting back against the headboard, feet flat on the bed, she tapped her bare toes against the comforter to the beat of the song. Well, partially. Admittedly, she wasn't really paying attention to the music.

The unit wasn't horridly big and it didn't take Astro very long to go through the entirety of it. Pushing the door open, slowly, with her finger tips, her head turned to the side and her eyes set in with an expression of concern, though no words were spoken. Instead, she remained silent, kicking her sneakers off as she walked and letting them remain laying on the bedroom floor. A few steps were done before she climbed up onto Eris' bed, behind the girl, and shifted so her arms engulfed her in a hug.

Hands slipped into the pocket of the hoodie, resting over top of Eris', as her chin gently nested on her shoulder.

Her eyes glanced down to see the wire of the headphones popping out from the hood, so she kept silent still, but her head leaned just slightly to the side, her hair resting against the hood. One of her own hands shifted, fingers spreading apart, so she could give her hand a reassuring squeeze.

She didn't know precisely what had been said or went down but she knew there was only way Hestia would have made the decision to return to her maiden name. And that was what worried her.

Eris' instinct was to pull away and hide under the hoodie, but the moment Astro had settled in behind her and the feeling of her warm hands on Eris' made her still and lean back into the other woman. What was it about this particular best mate that always made her okay?

She didn't pull the ear buds away from her ears mostly because she wanted to keep her fingers entangles with Astro's and partly because it was an excuse not to talk right away. She hadn't been lying when she'd said she wasn't good at this sort of thing.

Her thumb moved to pause the music, though. If Astro said anything, she still wanted to be able to hear her. At least if other things were utter shite, this was still good. She was resolved to make sure she didn't fuck that up. A natural risk-taker, it was a tribute to how much she cared that gambling what she had here was absolutely out of the question.

Silence was more comfortable than discussing emotions. Astro was never one to willing to discuss her own and she had trouble discussing other peoples. However, this was Eris, and exceptions were always made for Eris. And she had a feeling they couldn't remain in the silence forever, even if perhaps she wanted to just savior it.

She did like holding her close. It comforted her in every way, as she hope she brought some comfort to her best mate.

She gave Eris' hand another squeeze and for a moment shut her eyes, just enjoying the warmth, before she let out a sigh. "What made you tell her?" She whispered gently. She highly doubted it had been Juniper or Abigail that would unviel such a thing to Hestia. Astro knew she wouldn't have dared. It wasn't their place.

Her hand didn't let go as she waited for an answer. A quiet reassurance.

That, at least, was one of the many things Eris and Astro shared in common, their ability to sit in silence without it being weird or awkward. Leaning her head back, she pressed her forehead against Astro's neck and took a deep breath. Why did things have to suck so royally?

"She asked," she replied simply after a moment of continued silence. "And I don't lie. We were talking and it turned into ... that. So, yeah," she continued, "she knows now." Her voice was still thick with the emotion she tried so desperately to hide fruitlessly.

With a shrug she said, "I guess I couldn't pretend like it didn't happen forever so whatever." If she couldn't pretend like it didn't exist, maybe she could at least pretend like it didn't matter to her at all.

"Ah," was the first thing Astro managed to say when she heard the reply. She knew Eris wouldn't lie. Instead, her eyes dropped to look down at her hoodie that the woman was wearing, as she thought on the moment. What had brought that conversation up? If Hestia had been worried about that, what stopped her from asking sooner?

What had happened?

She drew in a very slow breath. She could sense the emotion in her words and she was not sure how to respond a first. "I didn't realize we were pretending it didn't happen," she said softly, her head turning so she could press the words against the top of Eris' head, allowing her lips to press a faint kiss against her hair once the sentence came to an end.

"Is that...all that happened?" She dared to ask, only because she had been there through all of it. She knew what happened with Remus and Hestia. She knew how it had rippled and effected Bran and Eris, in different ways, and she had a feeling as though something else may have occurred as well.

Eris' eyes darkened, even though Astro couldn't see it. "Of course we were. I didn't want those fuckers to know that, in the end, Remus Lupin doesn't choose the Jones women. Fuck them." She couldn't help the anger that rose inside of her like a cranky, dormant monster woken inside of her. "Guess that's something that's the same whatever world you come from." Her brow furrowed as her fingers tightened momentarily around the other woman's.

The hot, angry tears were threatening to return, but she swallowed them down with a small shake of her head.

"I don't know," Eris replied honestly. "I'm not really even sure what conversation we were having. I definitely hadn't intended on having that one." What had she been meaning to ask and why had it seemed so impossibly important before the big reveal. "I hate this place," she murmured, then, after a few moments.

Astro fell silent at the anger that rose forth from Eris. She had meant in general and thought that was what Eris meant as well. Knowing, instead, that she meant inside the compound, she chose not to argue that point for she couldn't. They had been pretending. And Astro didn't know enough about the other Remus' to comment negatively about whomever they did chose. But she did know her Remus. "You're Dad did chose you," she said quietly. She didn't want to anger her more but she felt it worth saying.

"And they aren't him. They are not even half the man he is," she added after a moment. She didn't understand the Remus' of this world. How they could leap to meet children from one world, nearly clamor all over them, but seem to ignore another. How could they be the Remus she knew? Whom she still loved, and knew Eris loved, regardless of the pain his and Hestia's decision had caused.

"No, I don't suspect you would have intended on it," she then spoke, her eyes glued upon the girl, watching her with deep concern. "I do too," she agreed, instinctively tightening her arms around her as she did.
