Who: Sirius and RemusKnap
What: A sleepover of sorts.
When: Aug. 20 evening
Where: Treehouse
Warnings: None?

He knew that everything was a mess right now. He felt weird about everything. He was entirely content to ignore the future that was eventually waiting for him. He couldn't bring himself to believe that there was ever a way that Bellatrix would be able to convince him to turn away from James and Remus. James said it was true, but -- It hurt Sirius to think about it. It hurt him to think about the fact that Evans thought that they had some kind of future together, and Sirius just wanted to avoid her. And then there was this daughter that Remus supposedly had and it was all a mess. A mess that Sirius wanted to avoid.

And so he'd put his mind to a task. He'd dragged some pillows out to one of the treehouses without a roof, making himself a comfortable little padded area. It was still warm enough that he hadn't brought blankets. As soon as he was done, he excitedly invited Remus. He was now sprawled on the floor of his pillow sea, waiting for Remus to show up. His hands were tucked underneath his head and he was watching the stars start to dot the night sky.

Curiosity was eating away at Remus and he was having a very difficult time avoiding mirrors. He knew that if he looked in it there was a decent chance he would understand everything that people were telling him. He'd possibly grow older...or perhaps he would stay the same. But he'd have answers. If he got older, that was. The other Sirius had been unsure as to what would happen. If he was older...he'd know the answer to whom Fleur was, and how they managed to have a child without having any relationship, and what that all meant in terms of Sirius. The little girl called Sirius 'Papi,' after all, didn't that mean he was around and important?

But how important?

It was eating away at him but yet he didn't want to risk losing years of his life. Was he meant to be older or was it some trick? Was it the proper way? All of these questions were circling in his mind and when the invitation to go outside and enjoy the night in the treehouse arrived, he decided to push away his curiosity for the time being. He preferred this. He liked knowledge and he wanted answers, but he also wanted experiences and fleeting moments.

Climbing up into the treehouse, he smirked at the pillows lined about. "Comfy?"

"Quite," Sirius answered wryly with a wide grin when he heard Remus' voice from near the side. He stretched mostly just to show just how comfortable he was. He settled back against the pillows and then waved one hand, signaling that Remus should come in.

"Thought it was so nice that we should sleep out here," Sirius said. It was nice, and it could be just them, free from all the noise that seemed to be filling up the compound. Sirius had purposefully left his journal behind because of that. He figured that the only person he would want to see otherwise was James -- and James could find him whether or not he was writing in the journal.

"I like that idea," he said without any hesitation or pause. He could use time away from the curiosity and the commotion. He just wanted to savior the company. He wished James and Peter were all right and proper. First James was too young and now he seemed too old; still Peter was nowhere to be found. That worried him, but it was just another part of his curiosity that he was ignoring.

Shifting, he climbed in fully till, moving so he could lay down agains the pillows by Sirius' side. One arm moved up behind his head to cushion it, while his other reached out, his hand carefully taking hold of his.

"You picked a good treehouse."

Sirius couldn't help the grin that broke out across his face the moment that Moony took his hand. It surprised him, but it also made him feel so happy -- his chest felt too full for just a moment, and all he could do was wrap his fingers back around Remus', squeezing for a moment. He could feel the faint lines that were raised along the back of his hand.

"Only the best," Sirius answered easily. Already all the tension that had been bothering him for last few hours was beginning to fade away.

"You get into any trouble today, Moony?" Sirius couldn't resist asking.

"Not surprised," he said in a quiet voice. It wasn't as though they had to be quiet outside or even like he particularly wanted to. It just felt right underneath the blanket of the stars. His smile remained as Sirius squeezed his hand and he took in a deep breath.

"No, I avoided it at all costs," he admitted, because his definition of trouble was presently meaning uncertainty. And uncertainty was represented in the physical form of the mirrors. He was avoiding the trouble of them. "Now, did you? I suspect you had to," he said with a hint of jest.

Sirius couldn't help but laugh when Remus said that he wasn't surprised. The sound swelled into the night air, and Sirius continued to grin even after he had stopped laughing.

"Me get into trouble today, Moony?" Sirius asked, using his best innocent voice. "Perish the thought." He turned his head so that he could look at Remus, his grin growing wider if possible. "I kept out of any and all troubles today by planning all the trouble I could get into."

He leaned when he finished talking, kissing Remus carefully again, because Remus had rather seemed to like it last time, and Sirius knew that he had certainly liked it, so he figured that it was best that they just give it another try.
