the playground world
The countdown has been posted, and we're on to the next flip!   overview. The Playground World is a joy to behold and appears as if it were pulled from the hopes and dreams of a child. Of immediate note, right outside the Compound, is the vast play area. A gigantic sandbox is nestled against a landscape of soft green grass and a persistently warm, sunny day. Dozens of swing sets are constructed in the sandbox, along with other various recreation structures, such as seesaws, monkey bars, merry-go-rounds, slides, and overhead ladders; to name a few. And, as though to accommodate dozens of children, many sand buckets and shovels are strewn about in the box. Outside of the sandbox, Taken will see a pathway leading towards a concrete court. Basketball hoops, skate arenas, volleyball nets and tennis nets all are scattered about; with a shed full of the necessary equipment for the activities. To the side of the court rests nets for Football, with the equipment residing in the same shed mentioned earlier. And further down appears to be a Quidditch pitch for pickup games. Other objects of note in close proximity to the playground are an assortment of treehouses in the distance with rope nets connecting them, a bouncy castle that is the size of an average house, a set of sprinklers to run through to cool off, and trampolines. And just before sundown, Taken will hear familiar jingles in the distance before an Ice Cream truck pulls up next to the Sandbox, with a seemingly unlimited supply of ice cream. time & events. All Taken, excluding the Omegas, will immediately have a charm placed upon them to make them act as though they are a child. This charm will have different effects on different taken. Some Taken will feel as though they are five years old while others may feel as though they are fifteen. Coincidentally, whatever age they act as, is also the age they have memories up to. So, if the charm affects the Taken to act as though they are only seven years old, they will only know the history of the first seven years of their lives. This will, of course, mean that all Taken (with the exception of the Omegas) will have no idea where they are or what the Compound is; or even who most of those around them are. Taken will feel as though they are children, however, they will not actually become children. A glamour spell is placed upon them to make it appear as though they are physically the age they believe they are; but it is simply a glamour. Players of adult Taken will have the ability to chose which age, between five and seventeen, they wish for their Taken to appear after the charm has been cast (the charm takes effect right at the time of the flip, ie right now). The Omega’s will remain uncharmed and have all of their memories intact. It will be up to the Omega’s to explain to the vast amount of confused, child in mind Taken what is happening. the taken are given. Dollhouses, action figures, dress up costumes, board games, marbles, crayons, coloring books, and stuffed animals are available to all the Taken. υ Upsilon: Upsilon gave water bottles to everyone, and first aid kits to the Omegas! γ Gamma: Gamma Taken will find a wardrobe in each of their rooms filled with a variety of clothing in bright colours and patterns, with the unspoken encouragement to dress themselves as they see fit. They will also find a collection of children's books available to them. ε Epsilon: Taken are given two outfits to alternate between. One is a gray polo shirt and black ironed slacks that seem impossible to wrinkle. Male Taken will receive a similar second outfit, with a striped gray polo instead of a plain one, and khaki slacks instead of black. Female Taken will receive a black skirt with a gray blouse. Additionally, the bookshelf in the main area of Epsilon Block now seems to include the complete works of Dr. Seuss and Roald Dahl. By the Projector now sits a variety of cartoon reels; such as classic Looney Tunes, Betty Boop, and Popeye. ζ Zeta: Taken will find grey tracksuit pants and maroon sweaters in place of their uniform. Remember the Zeta crest? The lion is no longer eating something mysterious, but looks playful and cute and is embroidered on every piece of clothing. Male Taken will find a variety of jeans, shorts, colourful t-shirts and hoodies, and female taken fill find similar, except they have the option of skirts, too. Every piece of clothing has the Zeta lion embroidered onto it, and a nametag stitched into the back on the inside. The common area has a pick 'n' mix sweet kiosk, which cuts off naturally when the chld has had enough to prevent them from throwing up on Zeta's carpet. ο Omicron: Each Omicron will find a selection of their favorite clothing from when they were the age they were flipped into. In addition, they will find a smock in their favorite color on their bed next to a bug collecting kit. The screens in the Taken's rooms have programmed to show episodes of Baby Einstein, Sesame Street, the Magic School Bus, Reading Rainbow, and Bill Nye the Science Guy. π Pi(e): All Pie Taken will receive a costume of their choice. Also, they will find that the Block has now completely changed. The bedrooms are all now pirate themed and consist of a play area consistent with their new 'age'. Toys, paintball guns, nerf balls, dolls, whatever they would be interested in at their age. The common area and bar have also changed to match the theme of the bedrooms. Various kids movies will be playing all day every day for anyone who wishes to watch. The bar no longer serves alcohol but, as long as it is manned by an Assistant, it serves unlimited chocolate chip cookies and milk. The Taken also receive a pair of denims, a tie-dyed t-shirt and a pair of Chucks of their choice. Regardless of age, all Taken will have a bucket of markers that they will find works on ALL materials: paper, brick, cement, metal, skin. τ Tau: Taus get three costumes that look like their favorite animals (or if they don't have three favorite animals, random ones that Tau thought they might like), and a pair of good sneakers with plenty of colorful socks. They also get a matchbook and a pair of sharp scissors, with the helpful instructions, "don't play with fire or run with scissors!" (Don't worry, they'll find that the fire from the matches just tickles and the scissors become too blunt to wound anyone if they touch skin.) Tau Block itself is mostly unchanged, except that the hidden passageway entrances-- normally concealed well behind mirrors, plants, bookcases, etc-- are now obvious enough for curious children to find fairly easily, and the texture of the passageway is a lot like what one might find on the inside of a bouncy castle. Her bar is also non-alcoholic, but Taken may still order whatever drinks they wish: they'll just come in virgin form. (Normal non-alcoholic drinks, like milk, are also available.) |
