Who: Jamesknap & Siriuscanon
What: drinks & togas!
When: Monday night.
Where: TOGA TOGA TOGA PARTY.
Warnings: TBD

Ah, Greece. It was different from how James remembered it when he'd visited it before, of course, but he now had an extra fondness for this ancient version. He might not have placed first in his competition, but he had made quite a lot of progress in other areas of his life that mattered much more, so he couldn't really be arsed to care. He felt like a winner anyway.

And he was so very fond of togas, even if having a toga-themed party in a world where they wore togas all the time seemed a little pointless. He was more than up for the party, though-- the name of his world really was rather hilariously, ironically appropriate-- and he certainly wasn't going to stay home when he had a Sirius to meet.

It didn't take him long to spot the Sirius he was looking for; at this rate, his search image for Siriusi was practically honed to perfection. Wine in hand, he headed over, laurel perched jauntily on his head, and grinned at Sirius. "Mistress Padfoot, right?"

This world had been an interesting one for Sirius for a variety of reasons, the least of which certainly not the arrival of the newer Taken. He’d been pleased, of course, when the Sirius from the party world had arrived, knowing how important he was to the others from that world. However, learning what he had of the man’s future with Remus had concerned him. Even with Remus’s assurance that he didn’t need to think along those lines, it was hard not to. He wasn’t angry, though. On the contrary, he’d absolutely meant what he’d said about simply wanting Remus happy. He was rather convinced, though, that push would come to shove and Remus would need to be with the other version of himself. And that was fine.

The togas themselves, too, had been interesting. Since his arrival in the Compound, Sirius had managed to build up a lot of his strength now that he was out of prison. However, he was still very slim and his body looked far more worn than most of his counterparts. Being essentially wrapped in a bedsheet constantly didn’t give much room to hide that.

Still, he’d come out to the toga party, grabbing a drink and taking a seat on a set of stone stairs. It was while there that he was approached by one of the Jameses, and he met the words with an amused grin. “We meet at last.”

"'Bout time," James said, sitting down beside him. "You and my Remus have got the reclusive thing in common, haven't you?"

It would've been obvious from his appearance that this Sirius had a reason for being reclusive, even if James hadn't known some of the story. Accused of murdering James and Lily and put in jail for it... well, that wasn't any more believable than James attempting to murder the other two. Why people insisted on framing Marauders for killing (or at least trying to kill) their friends, James completely failed to understand.

He grinned and took a sip of his drink. "Works a lot better when there's two of you, doesn't it."

Sirius laughed at that, nodding. “Probably.”

It had been rough to overcome his history even as much as he had, and the remorse that lingered now that his own James and Lily had come and gone really didn’t much help the situation. It was also difficult to know that even if he’d technically forgiven the Remus from his own world, they hadn’t had much contact still. The fact of the matter was that Sirius wouldn’t ever get back to ‘normal,’ not after everything. He was just glad that Sirilla was from so early in her prison term that she could bounce back easier.

“Much easier, yeah,” he agreed. “He’s a damn good man.” He smiled a bit, then cast a curious look on the man at his side. "How are things on your end, mate? I know you've had quite a challenge put on you with the memory stuff."

"He is," James agreed. "No idea where I'd be or what I'd be like right now if not for him." He gave Sirius a sideways grin. "I'd tell you to be good to him, but I don't have to do that, do I? You're Sirius."

He took a drink, and considered the question. Considered everything, from the years spent looking for his wife and friend, to the fallout when he'd shown up here and realized what had happened to them, and the way there just kept being one more shoe to drop.

"Lily and I are good," he said. "Took two months, but hey, took me two years last time, so I'd say that's an improvement, wouldn't you?" He chuckled, and then sobered. "Sirius and I aren't so good, but I wasn't expecting us to be. They really messed with his head, managed to break all the trust between us, you know? I'm not giving up on him, though."
