The countdown has ended and we're on to the next flip! overview. You are cordially invited to a murder! The countdown ends and the Taken find themselves in a city. New York City to be precise, circa 1924. The height of the Stock Market Rush, a time of prosperity when the alcohol flowed illegally. Mobsters, molls, flappers and intellectuals! Jazz, art, fashion and – of course – silent films! But more importantly it is a time of family. Crime families that is! The passage of Prohibition in 1920 has led to the importation and illegal sale and distribution of alcohol in the United States and the rise of the crime family whose power seem to grow with each passing year spurred on by the need for their services. And there are no families more notorious in New York than the Bonaccis, the Morettis and the Santones, all three locked in an unending war for supremacy. A war that often does have casualties… This morning Mario Bonacci – eldest son and heir of the Bonacci family – was found dead in the alleyway behind the family-owned restaurant, La Lune—a front for their very successful speakeasy. Shot three times in the back, the police already have several suspects including his brother who wanted to take over the family, his wife, the scorned lover, the accountant, the heads of the other warring families and employees looking for a quick getaway, to name a few (or several). There are even rumors that some cops, reporters and storeowners may be involved—someone tired of being snubbed? Someone tired of being shaken down? Or maybe someone else? Someone with a much darker motive… Everyone is a suspect and everyone is looking to solve the mystery before they're next on the chopping block. time & events. GAMMA: Gammas will be assigned clothing based on what he figures are their preferences, so ladies could get something that looks like one of these dresses or something more of the flapper variety. Everything is slightly different, and will be either red or black! The players can determine what they'd like their girls to wear. The men will receive either something formal like these or something more casual like these. Again, everything differs slightly, but will be black with red accents. Players can determine the specifics! PI(E): All Pi(e) Taken will find the following items in their wardrobes. For women, they will have three different dresses. The first will be a traditional Flapper dress in orange, then this dress and this dress. They will also find an assortment of feather boas, orange silk gloves, pearls, era-appropriate shoes and orange hair pieces. Men will find three outfits, as well. This suit, this suit and this suit. They will also have an assortment of fedoras. If any Taken prefer clothes for the opposite gender, that is what they will find in their wardrobe. EPSILON: Epsilons have nowhere near the freedom that Pi[e] taken have. The Captain has chosen rather conservative clothing for the time with a stylish tilt. For the men striped jackets and white pants while women get somewhat conservative dayware of calf-length skirts, sweater tops and widebrimed hats. TAU: Tau Taken will receive three sets each of either 20's-style suits or dresses of different styles, all in purple, with plenty of hats and jewelry to go with; she has, however, assigned the suits to the females and the dresses to the males. This will not change by simple willing it to be so, however, they might be able to find someone else in their block willing to trade if they're really motivated to avoid cross-dressing. ALL OTHERS: All Taken, unless otherwise specified, receive zoot suits and flapper dress/20s style dresses in their block's color. info the taken are given. The Taken will be entering a world already in progress. As with Pokemonlandia, it as if you have always been here. People know your name (your new name), who you are. While the Taken are playing the parts provided, they are still aware of themselves—they know full well that they are simply playing a part. Taken who are witnesses and/or poker tournament participants but do not have otherwise noted jobs will be able to choose their own jobs in the world post. Some will own business affected by the mafia families' control on imports and exports, others might be under their 'protection'. That kind of security really hurts the bottom line. Post here with your job choices! The compound will be disguised as an abandoned city building and Taken will be able to reenter at night to sleep. It will be inaccessible during the day, however Please note that the only death in game will be the non-Taken NPC character already mentioned. No Taken will be victims (though several will be suspects!). Also, everyone will be receiving an email shortly with a list of their characters and roles. Here are all of the relevant docs (except for information about the killer, sorry!! hints will be trickling in soon :D).
