Ororo was trying to do everything she could not to let curiosity get the better of her, but she must admit she wanted to know what was going on in Maine. She felt terrible for what she did and what happened, but she didn't want to ask around. Wouldn't it be suspicious that she knew so much? Plus she always got strange looks when she asked questions, maybe because people were so stunned with how she looked. Never the less she didn't want to think about it anyone, the last thing she wanted to hear was that she ruined someone's house because she let the power get away from her. One, she never dreamed of using her powers to cause harm and devastation, two, she was a more peaceful person.
No, she must focus on surviving. She had just made it back to New York City and luckily with only one power mishap upon arrival. She had caused a little bit of lightening on the way when she thought she was being followed. Funny how high stress situations just set off her power like that. Since then she had managed to a level head and go about her usual business. She had just spent the evening in the back of a candy store, in which she might have helped herself to some merchandise until she felt sick. With some luck she managed to sneak out before being detected by the owners. Now her mission was to find something to eat, other than a stomach full of sweets, and for that she needed some money. She was sneaking through the morning crowds of people as they headed to work. She collected a few wallets from some men and one from a ladies purse. She shoved them into her oversized sweater and was headed towards an alley to calculate her wealth and see if it was enough for bacon and eggs at the nearest greasy spoon.
