Lestrange found dead in home

BEDFORD - Prominent businessman and philanthropist Ranier Lestrange was found dead in his home late last night. Mr Lestrange was discovered in the study of his Bedfordshire home by his wife, Adelle Lestrange.

Initial reports from the department of Magical Law Enforcement state that Lestrange was known to be in robust health and the Aurors would be looking into the cause of death as a matter routine.

“We have no reason to suspect a crime has been committed,” said Bartemius Crouch, head of MLE. “It is in the best interest of the Lestrange family that we simply verify the cause of death. Our sympathies go out to the Lestranges in this time.”

Members of the Lestrange family declined to comment.

According to previous coverage in the Daily Prophet, Lestrange routinely spent evenings alone in his study.

“It’s my time to reflect on the day,” said Lestrange in a 1977 interview. “I review: what was gained, what was lost, what did I learn and what are my goals for tomorrow. I used to get up in the middle of the night to make notes until my wife complained. This allows me to put the day firmly behind me and I sleep well.”

Over his career Lestrange helped to triple the Lestrange family holdings. The Lestranges own land across England and is one of the largest producers of produce for wizarding Britain. It is also believed that Lestrange was a silent partner in several Diagon Alley businesses.
When asked for comment regarding the state of the Lestrange finances, a Gringotts Goblin simply snarled.

Mr Lestrange gave generously to charity and was a regular contributor to the Wizard Wireless Network and to a fund supporting students at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Mr Lestrange was 52-years-old. He is survived by his wife and sons Rodolphus and Rabastan.
