He nodded, closing his eyes. He shouldn't have brought it up, they both had issues, but with all the talk of fathers it had been pretty prominent in his mind. "Who am I kidding, it wouldn't change a thing. And anyway, I wouldn't have one just to prove a point or be accepted. He's got to learn to do that on his own, and if he doesn't, it's his bloody loss. The same with yours, who should consider himself lucky to have a wizard for a son, or just plain you for a son."
The words were genuine even if all Ernie really wanted was to have his father's love again.
