A wave of her hand had a quick braid in her hair, and she tucked her wand in it with a smirk as she summoned her staff to her with one hand and created a shield much like Richard's with the other, but then her fingers quirked and ball of magic hovered over her palm. "I never stopped doing it, darling," she told him as she took her stance. "I just stopped competing for a bit." She might not yet be an expert in the staff, but it was obvious she was comfortable with it and skilled enough to do some damage, and her wand could be easily reached.
She had no delusions of winning against him with a sword, not yet. But like hell she wouldn't go down fighting. She'd won championships for a reason. Skill and a vicious edge.
