I know you won't be happy about this week's match, but try not to be too upset. It was a close game and the Arrows are still second in the league.

Aunt Hecuba is having a friend over for afternoon tea today, so I'm helping her make some cakes to go with the sandwiches. Don't tell her, but I put one aside for you. I iced it myself and everything.

I was also wondering whether you'd been invited to my mother's ball?

You're right, I wasn't particularly pleased, especially since the loss was to Falmouth, which grates a little more than losing to anyone else. I know the standings are still good - I'd just prefer if they were even better.

Thank you for the cake, it was delightful. And you know I'll always keep your secrets.

Unsurprisingly, I was not. I doubt your mother would be very pleased to have me there in any capacity.

We shall have to get together soon.

There's still time for them to get better, and they will if you keep playing the way you have been.

You're welcome. Aunt Hecuba and her friend are still enjoying them, but they excused me to my room.

As far as I know, I'm not invited either. I wouldn't have wanted to go, even if I was~~, but~~. If you're free on Wednesday, we could have dinner instead.
