I really ought to study cultures a bit more before I head out for the rest of this tour my boss has placed me into. After dinner my host insisted we go relax at his favorite hamam. Imagine my surprise when we arrive and within minutes I'm down to nothing but a loin cloth. Be glad you didn't have to share my horror at the naked bloke who would have made Professor Hagrid look thin.

There's also plenty of same gender sexual inuendo and encounter. Therefore splitting the rooms by gender seems out of order in such a society.

Yes. Though it makes more sense when you think about how some of those societies out and out deny that same-sex anything happens.
