I really ought to study cultures a bit more before I head out for the rest of this tour my boss has placed me into. After dinner my host insisted we go relax at his favorite hamam. Imagine my surprise when we arrive and within minutes I'm down to nothing but a loin cloth. Be glad you didn't have to share my horror at the naked bloke who would have made Professor Hagrid look thin.

	It can really help in the long run. In my travels I've had to live and be part of some cultural circumstances that are vastly different from here. It is helpful to know what is a hard and fast rule and what is more lenient, and such, and stuff to avoid causing insult. Hamams can be very relaxing. (Reply to this) (Thread)

	Seeing as they are trying to impress me I'm not worried with offending them. It is their job to woo me not the other way around. It could have been, but unfortunately I will now always associate it with naked fat men. Not an image I ever wished to acquire. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	I agree with the single sex rooms for those who may not want to see or be seen with the other. However, there ought to be a joint room as well. If their concern in separating the two genders is sexual in nature they have sadly missed the point. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	There's also plenty of same gender sexual inuendo and encounter. Therefore splitting the rooms by gender seems out of order in such a society. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)
