Being the youngest or Ailfrid’s brood, Killian had always had a special place in Finbar’s heart. Only just out of Hogwarts this summer, he was easily the youngest in the weekly chess club, but that didn’t deter him from showing up every Thursday. With a match tomorrow, Finbar figured that watching Killian play was just the way to go easy tonight.
He looked up just as she walked in, and he could have sworn he had seen her before, though as she walked across the room and took a seat as if it was the most natural thing in the world, he found himself leaning back in his seat, simply for the purpose of watching her. She had just flipped a page, when it hit him where it was he had seen her before, and with a small smirk, he picked up his water and went to her table.
“This seat taken?” he asked as he pulled out a chair and took a seat not too close to her, but still close enough so he could keep an eye on the chess tables. “I have to admit that I hadn’t pecked you for a chess aficionado.”
