RP: Tattoo Time (Backdated)
Who: Dennis and Stacey (also kittens and maybe Zacharias)

What: Dennis gets a tattoo

Where: Pinky's Ink, Monument Alley

When: Sunday 28 September, Midday

Rating: SFW

Dennis walked rather purposefully down Monument Alley, a piece of paper held in his hand. He was off to Indonesia with Rose and her Cursebreaker friends the next day, and had decided that it was finally time to get a tattoo. He stopped outside Pinky's Ink and took a deep breath before stepping inside. He was about to call out when he was confronted by a ferocious kitten. At least, Dennis thought it was probably trying to be ferocious. It came across more as adorable but the intense mewling noise was probably meant to be frightening. "Hello little one," he cooed, unthinkingly scooping the kitten up. "What are you doing here eh?"

He looked around and spotted who he assumed was the tattooist. "Hello," he said with a grin, absently moving the sheet of paper away from the kitten's paws. "I was wondering if you'd have time to squeeze me in for a tattoo? This one to be precise," he said, putting the paper on the desk. "I'm Dennis by the way."

Tilting her head to one side slightly, Stacey fixed Dennis with a confused look at his response, and said, "Yeah, one and the same." She laughed a little at the explanation provided, and commented, "I don't doubt that for a second. And yes, the names are awesome."

Without looking up, she explained, "This is the trace paper that I'll use to put the design on your skin once you tell me exactly where you want it. Obviously, we don't put the outline down until you've chosen and I've made sure the area is clear and clean, but once that's done, I'm gonna need you to tell me how much movement you want the tattoo to be capable of. If you'd decided to go Muggle, we wouldn't be doing that piece, which kind of goes without saying, but, you know. Thoroughness, or something like that."

"Awesome! I actually find him interesting to be honest. Have you ever had a friend-crush on someone, where you just really wanted to be their friend? I think I have that," he said, still grinning.

Dennis nodded, slightly fascinated by her explanation. "I was thinking maybe that the lion could have the wind through its mane. I'd also love to have it's expression mimic how I'm feeling, if that's not too much trouble? You know, maybe roar if I'm angry, smile when I'm happy. What do you think? I leave it up to your good taste!"

Laughing, Stacey admitted, "No, can't say that I have, though, admittedly, I tend to just adopt friends left and right without really giving the other person a say in the matter."

Nodding as he explained what he wanted, she said, "Sounds good - I'll do what I can, but most of the end result is going to come from you, since it'll be drawing from your magic for the movement and reactions. A lot of that is subconscious though, so don't worry about messing it up, because you really can't." It was a little bit of a rehearsed speech, something she said to people over and over again because the explanation tended to be needed often.
