"You mean Ravelli, the Italian Auror at the Apparation Point?" Richard nodded. "I go through there all the time. Sometimes there's a queue, you get to talking. Sometimes a regular like me gets asked to carry a message or a package from ome point to the next. His wife and I trade recipies, and his kids are mad for Chocolate Frog cards. Its the little things you learn about people and places that makes travel fun instead of a burden."
It was a short taxi ride to the hotel. Rich gave their destination to the driver in Hindi, then listened to the man's accent and switched to Punjabi. Their driver kept up a running comentary, and Rich translated for Luna, pointing out local landmarks and places of interest.
The decor of the Taj Mahal Hotel could only be described as opulent, reminiscent of the empire that had built the Taj Mahal itself. The Varq was done in deep reds which set off the pristine whites of the modern table settings. There was a queue for seating, but Richard's fluent Hindi and handshakes with senior staff members where substantial bills discretely changed hands soon had him holding out her chair for Luna and then sitting across from her at a table in a good location.
Rich smiled as the waiter handed a menu to Luna. "English is one of the universal languages here in Delhi, so take a look and see if there's anything sounds interesting to you. I've dined here before and everything is really good. Care for wine or a drink before dinner? Or, they do have an excellent choice of teas and coffees."
