Squirming away from the touch with a small smile and a slight blush, Marcus ignored the compliment to himself, and instead said, "Yeah, but that doesn't mean I don't want to see it now anyway." Feeling a little like a pouty child, he followed Roger's instructions, reluctantly abandoning the bandage to focus on the man beside him instead.
Marcus frowned slightly at Roger's words, and felt the need to explain. "She's been my best friend for almost twenty years now. She's..." Bryony was a lot of things, and it was hard to condense those down to words. He shrugged before continuing, "She's the light of my life, always has been."
"Lunch sounds great," he responded, feeling something in his stomach flip at Roger's grin - not an unusual occurrence, but there seemed to be something strange about the expression this time. Marcus watched the younger man a little more closely as he followed him to retrieve their food and sat down. With a small shake of his head, he answered, "Wherever you'd like. You're the expert, after all." He offered Roger a smile after speaking, because really, he had no idea where to go or what to do, and he was certain that he'd be happy with whatever the other wanted to show him next.
