Lucy was just putting her money away - glad Susan had exchanged some of Lucy's muggle notes for wizarding coins last time she'd been here - when she heard her name. "Ernie?" She was so pleased to see him that she turned from the bar as he approached, stepping forward and hugging him. She stretched up to kiss his cheek and stayed there for a moment. It seemed to be getting easier, seeing all her old friends again. There was less guilt, less anxiety.
She didn't know if Hannah or Susan had mentioned seeing her, but as she pulled away she looked Ernie over. "Still handsome, I see." She mentally tallied the coins in her pocket against what she'd been charged for the alcoholic ginger beer she'd just bought. "Can I get you a drink?" she ought to have enough. "Did you just come from upstairs?" He hadn't come from the front door, she knew that much, as it was within sight of her position. "I didn't know there was an upstairs. You weren't leaving, were you?" She was babbling - so maybe she was still a little anxious, but it was also good to see a friendly face tonight.
