Rolf rubbed Dennis' back soothingly. "It's easy to be angry," he murmured understandingly. "But maybe someday you can stop being angry with him." It would take time, and willingness. He simply stated it, not being pushy in the least. "I know, cubby," Rolf said. "But at least you took away those goods things, even if he was a horrid dick and did that to you."
Rolf's eyes met Rose's over Dennis' head. She gave him a small smile, silently passing the conversation to him for the moment. He smiled back softly, fingers of his other hand ghosting over the back of her hair. "Is it really worth abandoning a friendship you've treasured for years?" he said after a long moment of thought. He spoke slowly, in a mild manner. Dennis would probably change his mind in time, but at least he'd give him that much to think about. He nuzzled Dennis' neck again, comforting. He worried because he knew how much Seamus meant to his friend.
