Smiling, Seamus let his free hand settle on his own chest, the other still playing with Dennis's hair. For all Dennis joked, lying with him like this actually made Seamus feel safe and... not protected, exactly, but loved. Giving a wave to Dean as he passed and then watching him settle in beside Susan, Seamus was only too aware he was lucky to have such friends as these.
"Oh, Den," he breathed, tucking Dennis's head closer against his shoulder. He kind of hated Paden for still being with Tom when he hadn't been willing or able to stay with Dennis - Dennis who was ten times the man Tom was and deserved to be loved and protected, not hurt. "I know." He didn't. His longest relationship had been three months and it had been a mix of wounded pride and dashed hopes, not actual heartache. "You can always come here. My flat is a sanctuary for waifs and strays of all kinds."
He shrugged slightly at the question. "Fine. Ish. Doesn't seem like any of my friends are having the best week - which is what this is all in aid of, I suppose." He didn't mention his own nightmare. That had mostly been sorted when Dean came over to spend the evening with him.
