RP: Hungover Shenanigans
Who: Roger and Ernie

What: Roger is severely hungover, Ernie is doing a favour for a friend

Where: Roger's flat, Mayfair

When: Sunday morning, at the ungodly hour of eleven o'clock

Rating: SFW

There was knock on the door. It actually took Roger a moment to differentiate the pounding in his head and the pounding on his door. Indeed, if he had been in a position to appreciate it, he may have admitted that the knock on the door was downright diffident. But after the night of drinking and dancing at Ben's birthday, Roger really wasn't in the position to appreciate such subtle niceties.

There was another knock on the door, a tad more firm this time. Roger groaned and launched himself out of bed, padding out of the room and down the stairs. He'd forgotten that his Healer was coming to see him today.

"I've told you already, Wesley, I'm fine," he said hoarsely as he opened the door. "The stretches that Ali gave me, plus the-" he looked at the man standing looking at him in shock. Idly, Roger became aware that he was in nothing but a rather tight pair of boxers, and that the man in front of him was not in fact Wesley Wallace. "You're not Wesley," he said, almost accusingly at the man standing in front of him.

Roger pursed his lips speculatively. "I remember going into a cupboard with someone," he said slowly. "I did fuck Cormac up against a bathroom wall at one point," he blushed slightly. "I had just had a break up you know? Anyway I may have also gone into a cupboard with you? Or that could have been Pod, one of the beaters? He's very good at uh, using his bat if you catch my drift."

Ernie's face, if possible, flushed a lot more, though this time it wasn't in embarrassment. "Well, whoever it was, he was rather brilliant with his bat. I don't remember as much as I should, but I don't think I was able to walk for a day or two. I definitely haven't had gin and tonics since that night, either."

He coughed to clear his throat and tried desperately to return to himself a sense of decorum. "So, your physical condition. Healing I mean." It was all it took to not douse himself with an aguamenti. "The diagnostic noted a couple of places where there's still some minor bruising that hasn't been healed by the potions and rest, but unless you've any complaints, they should go away in a day or so. Did Wesley say you'd be back on the pitch for a certain date?"

Roger scratched his chin and shrugged. "Once again it could have been either of us. Depends on which bat you wanted inside you really? Pod and I uh, swing the same sized bat if you catch my drift." He smirked, definitely enjoying this conversation. It almost made up for having to down a couple of hangover potions to get out of bed.

He nodded, graciously allowing the man to return to his job. He shrugged at the various leftover bruises, he'd had worse. "He mentioned the next game, but was going to make a decision today." He turned the full force of his smile and puppy dog eyes on the man. "What do you think?"

Look at his face, keep looking at his face, that's it MacMillan... It took every ounce of will he had not to look down and verify the size of Roger's bat, which wasn't exactly well-hidden as he was still just wearing nothing but his underwear. He was starting to be really glad he'd come wearing healer's robes - they hid so much after all. Though maybe it was him and he'd want to try it again sober this time? Shite, shut up MacMillan and get back to working. There's no shagging the patients!

"Well, you look fit to me - I mean, fit to play, that is. I really can't say without seeing your chart, which Wesley still has. How about I talk to him and compare notes, and we'll let you know by the end of the day, all right?" Ernie was already trying to figure out what to do after he left Roger's, plans that so far included having a chat with Wesley and taking a very cold shower.

Roger's smirk grew more pronounced as Ernie clearly tried to keep his cool. For a moment, he considered scratching his stomach directly above the hem of his boxers but decided against it, as it would be almost obscene under the circumstances. "Would you like me to ask Pod? He was sober that night so he'd probably remember if it was me or him."

"Thank you, you're fit yourself," he said with an easy laugh. "But thank you. If I have to spend another week on the bench I may actually spontaneously combust."

Ernie was a little taken aback by Roger's offer, but was still pleased by it. Wasn't Roger a little busy with quidditch to go around verifying the sex life of a young, new healer like Ernie? But then, he was offering... "Well, I wouldn't want you going to any trouble on my behalf." Oh, who was he kidding. "Though if it's no trouble, and if it was him, um, you can definitely feel free to tell him you met up with me, yeah?"

Was he going to ever get his foot out of his mouth before he left Davies' home? Though it was nice to know the bloke thought he was fit. "We wouldn't want you combusting." Oh bloody fuck, can't I say anything without it sounding dirty? "I'll definitely be recommending reinstatement. Do you need anything before I head off, then?"

"Oh please, Pod is a good mate! Asking a question like that wouldn't get me in trouble, although he might be a bit embarrassed if he screwed someone who was blackout drunk? Regardless I'll ask him for you and send you an owl? Unless you have one of Finnigan's journals?"

He quirked an eyebrow and looked down at his crotch and back up to Ernie. "Well depending if it was me in that cupboard, you may have already done plenty for me in the past." He tried to keep a straight face, but couldn't help the laugh that burbled out. "I'm sorry, you're just blush too much not to tease," he said, still chortling. "It's been lovely meeting you, and I'll let you know what Pod says."

"Journal would be perfect, thanks. And I doubt he'd be as embarrassed as me the next morning when I couldn't even remember who I'd shagged the night before." This Davies was a pretty stand-up bloke; Ernie was definitely impressed.

Ernie's face was about to flame up again, but thankfully it was defused by Roger's laugh. "It's all right. It's the curse that comes with fair skin, I suppose, though when I'm not on an official call, I can usually give as good as I get - and no, I meant with words, before you even think of going back into the gutter." He gave a chuckle of his own. "It's been an honour, and thank you again. And no need to get up on my behalf, I think I can see myself out," he added, taking a step backwards toward the exit.
