Rolf knew that Dennis had been down a lot lately, and the mention of hugs in the journal the other day made him think that he really should do something to perk his friend up, if he could. They hadn’t seen each other in a while, schedules being what they were, but that would have to change. He planned on spending more time with Rose and with Dennis if he could, despite being busy with the shop. He needed a good assistant, that was all there was to it. They were incredibly important to him and he couldn’t fall down on taking time for them.
His mind once again attempted to stray to thinking about Rosie – it was hard not to, lately, given that he seemed to be discovering feelings he thought he’d not had since they’d first met, so many years ago now. It wasn’t that he was denying them, though, but he needed time to think on them before he did something idiotic and ruined their friendship, which was the deepest one he had and incredibly precious to him.
He had a bag over his arm, with a few things in it to cheer Dennis up. A few were from the box he always kept, where he stored away things he bought in his travels for specific people to give them when he wanted to give them something really nice. There also were cookies and some sweets and other things he knew Dennis to like. Thus armed, he Apparated into the flat, feeling the wards wash over him and recognize him. It made him smile, that he was trusted to just come right on in.
