To those with children
(note this isn't intended to be the child of any played character)
To whomever thought it was a good idea to leave a young child to their own devices in Diagon Alley today you ought to be ashamed of yourself. I don't appreciate getting mowed over by a crying child running out of shop because they turned around and their mother was no longer there. If you can't keep up with your child then perhaps you should leave them home with someone else while you run your errands.

Have you ever taken a child shopping? You shouldn't judge people if you have no experience. It's not as easy as you think it should be.

I have not had that opportunity. However, I would take a venture that I wouldn't leave a store without my offspring. If I child is to young to be at Hogwarts they are too young to run around unattended.

Children can be harder to manage than a pair of Bludgers, I'll have you know. One split-second of you looking away and they could be three shops down the street before you know it.

But of course, you were the upstanding citizen who comforted the child and made sure he or she was returned to the parents, right?

That may be true but surely a child old enough to stray has been taught to check with store personnel before taking off. Not only that but you would have thought a worried caretaker wasn't to far away regardless.

I did not have a chance as an older witch immediately stepped in and began inquiring of the child.

'Surely' and 'would have thought' are two concepts that doesn't always correlate with reality, however unfortunate that is, especially when it comes to children.

Alright, at least someone took care of the child, that is a relief to hear.

I know that it is none of my business, but I'd be lying if I claimed that you haven't crossed my mind the past couple of weeks.

Mainly I wanted to hear how you were doing with what that ward revealed.

No, but they ought to apply to caretakers.

Alicia
I am trying to forget it. The ward revealed nothing except that the journals aren't perfect.
