RP: Dinner at Claverton
Who: Alicia, open to Angie, Katie, Oliver, and Adrian
What: Dinner and talking
Where: Ground floor drawing room at Claverton
When: Thursday evening, October 22 2005
Rating: SFW

Note left on the dining table in Alicia’s house:

Dinner is served...
...in Claverton.

There's Floo Powder by the fireplace. The destination is "Claverton".

See you there,
~Alicia

Closing her eyes, Alicia let her head fall back as she breathed in deeply. The room had this typical smell of empty house, even though the house itself had only been vacated little over a month. A sense of calm filled her, not unlike the first time she had stepped into the house on Sheffield Terrace. Home. This was home, though they wouldn’t be moving in for at least another couple of weeks.

With a smile, she opened her eyes again. As much as she would have loved to, standing the in the middle of the room wasn’t enough, when she had invited her friends for dinner.

Unpacking the hamper she had brought, she levitated candles in different sizes, shapes and colours to different places in the empty room, and with a wave of her wand lit them, so she had some light in the continuously darkening twilight. Once the blankets were spread out on the floor, in front of the fireplace, she cast some strategic cushioning charms and arranged the sandwiches she had picked up from Crumbs along with the wine, water, and juices.

There. She was all ready. Now all she needed was her friends.

Adrian arrived just when Alicia told him to be there and stepped through the front doors with his key, feeling a sense of pride, happiness, and slight nerves. He wore his usual t-shirt, leather jacker, and muggle jeans, and swept through the house to the drawing room and hoped that he wasn't late to help Alicia set up anything that need be. He wasn't sure what she had in mind for a dinner at the house - they certainly hadn't moved anything in yet - but he knew she was resourceful and part of him loved that she'd wanted to do this here.

"Love?" he called.

Alicia’s smile spread into a grin and she actually bounced a couple of times when she heard the frontdoor open. “I’m in the drawing room, honey!” she called back, giggling as she ran out to greet Adrian.

“You have no idea how long I’ve waited to be able to call back and forth like that,” she beamed as she wrapped her arms around his neck. “Hi.”

Angelina had, after seeing Ali's note, put on slightly older clothes she cared less about and escaped her flat without her cat escaping. She was confused as to why there would be dust in Alicia's dining room, but when she got there she understood that dinner was actually happening somewhere else.

Shrugging she lit a tiny fire, more than enough for the Floo to work, and grabbed a handful of powder, calling 'Claverton' clearly. Several spinning, sucking, squeezing seconds later, the rush of rooms slowed down and she managed to step relatively gracefully from the fireplace and into the room.

"Oh!" she said, surprised. It was somewhat dusty around the edges but the blankets and candles made it look inviting. "Hi!" she said, spotting Alicia and Adrian. "Not quite what I was picturing from the invite, but a good surprise, I guess." She still wasn't quite sure what was going on, but the food looked good, if rather less dinner-party like than the last time.

Sitting leaned against the wall across the room from the fireplace, Alicia swirled the wine in her glass. She was just telling Adrian about her day in school, when the flames turned green and a familiar shape came whirling out.

“Hi,” she chuckled, when Angelina finally found her footing and noticed the two of them. “I promise, the next time I send you an invite, it’ll match the occasion,” she grinned and gestured for Angie to come over and sit down. “Glad you could make it. You like?” This time her gesture included the whole room around them as well as the view through the glass doors. “And how’s it going?”

Angie shook her head and grinned. "No, this is great. I was just sort of expecting to just walk upstairs, you know?" She shrugged, stepping properly away from the hearth and looking around. "I do like," she said after a few seconds. "Great view." She was still confused as to where exactly the were, aside from having a name and the pair of them having access to it.

She shrugged and moved closer to the two of them, plopping down on a likely looking bit of blanket. "Oh, not bad. Looking forward to this week's match. Wimbourne shouldn't be the hardest match. I mean, they might surprise us, but we're all prepared." She crossed her legs and debated between wine, juice and water. It was still far enough from her match that a small glass of wine with food was allowable but she wasn't sure whether she wanted one or not. "I'm looking forward to Sunday though. I'm spending the afternoon with Romilda Vane updating my woefully shit autumn and winter wardrobe," she said. She indicated the jumper she was wearing which was perfectly serviceable but a style that harked back at least five years, if not further.

"How are you two?"
