If Adrian had any concerns about Theo's pickiness when it came to employment he shouldn't have worried. Unless there was a chance that someone or something alive would suffer for Theo's perceived incompetence then Theo had no qualms about taking any job. He was more nervous that Adrian would definitely interview him and find him lacking, the humiliation of hearing from someone else what he knew himself - that he was useless and stupid and unemployable. Unreliable.
