“Missed out on the best part,” Rose ground out, her eyes still firmly on the mess in the bathtub. Rolf, however, seemed work that unspoken magic on her that he had since the first time she had met him. Without even trying, everything just eased with the world when he showed up, and suddenly Rose found herself hard at work to not give in to the laughter at the sheer ridiculousness of the whole situation.
“I just wanted to wash him down before I let him in the flat,” she sighed, sending another small sputter of water flying from her lips. “Didn’t even know owls could swim.”
