Theo had been bewildered and touched in equal measure at the invitation to have dinner with Aidan and Luna, who he was pretty sure he knew from Hogwarts; he never had considered himself important enough to be invited anywhere and each small gesture of inclusion or friendship from the people around him helped more than his therapy sessions ever did. It looked like Aidan could have used one of them himself now though - Theo had never seen his host so fraught.
While Theo wasn't a Michelin star chef by any means, he could cook enough to make a passable meal and he was helping Aidan in the kitchen while the older man paced and fretted, needlessly as far as Theo was concerned but then he was a little biased.
He still flinched and instinctively moved to defend himself at Aidan's outburst, angry at himself immediately after for doing so. He hoped that Aidan was able to calm down when he had some space, purely for his friend's benefit. He really had nothing to worry about, he was as kind-hearted as Theo knew. He looked down at the cats, who always seemed to be in proximity to him somewhere when he was in the house, and shrugged at Bertie when she mewed at him.
He turned off the oven as everything was cooked and ready and then ventured out to find Aidan. "Hey... are you okay?" he asked when he found him, worried.
