Kestrels Seeker Out for season
By Teofila Katica
Gofraidh Damhán, Seeker for the Kenmare Kestrels, is out for the remainder of the season following a horrifying accident upon catching the snitch during Saturday's game (incidentally, Kenmare won 400-260). Damhán, 28, had just caught the snitch when a rogue bludger came from the visitor's side of the pitch and hit him and his broomstick on the left side, instantly breaking several bones and causing other injuries. Healers arrived on the scene immediately. While his injuries are not life threatening, Damhán's future playing Quidditch are unknown. No foul play is suspected at this time, however an investigation has been launched. Reserve Seeker, Riordan Fionola, 27, is anticipated to take over Damhán's position. The Daily Prophet promises to keep you up-to-date on all the happenings.
Damhán first came to the Kestrels at the beginning of the 2002-2003 Quidditch season as reserve to then Seeker, Aidan Lynch. Damhán's step into the spotlight occured after Lynch's injuries at the end of the 2004 season against the Wigtown Wanderers.
Fionola is in his second season, arriving on the team in June 2004 from the Chudley Cannons.
