Charlie levitated the kettle onto the fire proper to finish heating and quickly charmed the mugs down onto his desk, grabbing the jar of instant coffee from where it was in easy reach on a low shelf. He didn't actually take milk himself but there was always some around the club for various cocktails and soft drinks so he'd swiped a bottle from the chilled area as he came past on his way in and he levitated both it and the tiny sugar pot onto the desk too. "Coffee it is then. Although I've got milk and sugar if you want them. Set your own up," he said, gesturing to the bottle and box as he spooned coffee into the mugs. Any milk would likely go in afterwards, but sugar generally needed the heat to dissolve.
"Yeah, pretty good day. Had a bit of a run, did a few errands. Nothing too taxing." As Genie finished setting her mug up the kettle started whistling and he summoned it to him, deftly pouring without touching the hot kettle which he then banished back to the hearth.
"So, first things first," he said, once his coffee was sitting cooling in front of him. "I want to thank you for all of your hard work since you've joined the team. You're doing really well, you've continued to work well with everyone, and I was particularly impressed with all the drinks you came up with for Pride. They all sold really well and I'm pretty sure they were a factor in the profits that weekend," he said. He liked Genie immensely since she was a hard worker and generally got on with everyone well most of the time, but there was a delicate matter he needed to approach with her and he really wanted to start out with praise because he didn't want to scare her, or make her fear for he job. There was no need for that if she answered as he hoped she would.
