Charlie had slouched down in his chair while he was waiting, hunching over his book in the manner of the irredeemable bookworm most people these days didn't realise he was. When the knock came at the door he straightened up and smiled as Genie stuck her head in.
"Yep, come on in," he said, gesturing to the other two chairs in the room inviting her to take one.
He made sure the stray slip of parchment he was using as a bookmark was in place before closing it up and slipping it into his desk drawer. "So, tea? Coffee? Kettle is getting warm so it should only take a minute or two." Water or a soft drink was always an option too, but Charlie had a tendency to assume that everyone else was as caffeine dependant as he was.
