RP: Let's plan this thing. Who: Cho & Cormac What: Planning the wedding Where: Cormac's flat, Monument When: Monday evening; September 7th, 2005 Rating: SFW. Complete.
Cho took a seat across from Cormac at his kitchen table. They'd all ready been through the pleasantries and both had remarked that it'd been too long since they last caught up and really needed to do it more often. Second cousins were still family, after all, and they'd only ever considered each other cousins because of their ages, and now with Lavender coming into the family - and thankfully not being one of those Gryffindors that held certain things against Cho even all these years later - really, they should be closer.
In some ways, Cormac and Cho had always been surprisingly similar. They both truly felt their feelings, and made them known (though in somewhat different ways - Cho with her body, Cormac with his words). Their smiles were somewhat alike, too, as distant as they were in their genes. They grinned at each other now, and if either of their Mums were there, they would have remarked on the similarity. Planning Cormac's wedding - besides the stress from their family - was making Cho happier than she remembered being in a very long time (with the exception of Fin, of course). Even better, the entire family adored Lavender.
"So, where do we start?" Cormac asked, his smile turning boyish and bashful.
Cho took out the binder she'd prepared for tonight, after speaking with Lavender and both of their mothers (Aunt Ana and Mrs. Brown) over the last few weeks. It was packed with checklists, color swatches, and potential.
"Well," she said, her eyes twinkling, "Lavender told me you'd chosen a venue - Uncle Tiberius' estate, right?"
He nodded, "Where else?" With a shrug, he gave her an 'aw shucks, what am I gonna do' look.
"Beautiful. Cold in the winter, but we can handle that. Gorgeous in the spring, though a little humid in the summer. Have you finally settled on a date?" Her last notes with Lavender had indicated that by then they hadn't, but she'd encouraged the younger woman to try harder.
He nodded, much to Cho's relief and delight and he said, "November 14th," at which point her delight turned to slight panic. That was... less than ten weeks away.
Feeling her face flush slightly, she asked something she was dreading - but with the rumors and now the quick date, she felt she had to ask, "There's no particular reason for the rush...?" She raised her eyebrows as if to say things she didn't want to explicitly say.
Cormac laughed. He'd heard it from others. Shaking his head, though, he said, "No, nothing like that," he sighed. "Nothing honourable and stupid about this, I just want to marry her. I want to marry her as soon as she'll let me." Cho couldn't but sigh back, a small, melted smile on her face at how utterly adorable he was. They're love was so obvious, and despite the shortness of their relationship and lack of history... Cormac and Lavender were the two most perfect people for each other that Cho had ever met. It hurt a bit, of course, but only in an achey, good way. She had Fin, and he made her so very happy. But he was still married. It would be a long time before she could hope to have anything like this conversation about herself and her own relationship.
Smiling a little bit brighter, and sitting a little bit straighter, she said, "Well, then, let's start looking at colors. I only brought the reds and golds," she gave him a knowing look and pulled her binder open to the correct section.
